Ask her what the approx cost for a root canal plus metallic crown is ,I have no idea what a metallic crown is but that's what they put in the quote for $2,900 / 70,000 thai baht

In Pattaya (at BPH) a root canal is approx 15,000 baht, a top notch ceramic crown is approx 16,000 baht and maybe 2,000 baht for misc fees/supplies etc. If a pin is needed for the crown then that is approx 4000 baht. So about 4 visits and about 35,000 baht. Hope that helps. Edited January 19 by couchpotato 4 1
Popular Post NextG
As an implant is from around 40k, what the point of a root canal? Either way, better to have a one piece ceramic crown than the cheaper metallic version. 2 2

Popular Post georgegeorgia
These dentists in the West are bloodsuckers ! Probably same in the UK Are dentists expensive around the World? What about places like Poland and Hungary? I heard in Australia their hourly rate as a employee iof a hospital is $200 an hour ! I have decided I might get in on this dentistry myself with that kind of money ! Edited January 19 by georgegeorgia 1 1
timendres
The price quoted to you in Australia is not really that outrageous -- for Australia. Thailand does provide excellent dentistry at a lower price. However, remember that there are a few charlatans out there. So if you have the work performed in Thailand, be sure to use a reputable dentist.

BPH is just overly expensive in everything they do. 1

I had a crown done at BumCrap dental clinic. Without the root canal, and that alone took 1 month, because the 1st didn't fit correctly. Come back in 2 weeks. All for nothing as it broke in less than 6 months anyway. Never sat right, as she didn't do a root canal, and the tooth was impacted, why the 1st didn't sit right, or the 2nd. Had a root canal done last year, Oct maybe, that took 2 vists / 3 weeks, and return for composite, 1 week later. So one month, also for a side incisor. Are you adding the cost of flights and hotels for your possibly 1 month stay ? Since you're not a big fan of TH, it's not exactly a holiday for you. lom
1 minute ago, georgegeorgia said: 0,000approx ,is this in Pattaya may I ask ? No, it is in Samui by a dentist who doesn't do dual pricing. I may have got some discount (1000-2000 baht) for being a long time customer but you should not have to pay more than 25000 for the same job anywhere in Thailand.
