It seems  that the  'confused' emoji for some reason is abundantly given in this forum, telling that the maybe

the giver's faculties are not a 100% there as there're many other emojis that can convey negative response

in a more precise reaction to a post, such as ' I don't agree' emoji, or ' bullock' or 'not nice'

'your post in unclear' etc, etc, Maybe the people that run this forum will consider my suggestions...

I guess it's based on "perception ' and what you presume the emoji to mean.

Even someone could take offence at the laughing emoji when in fact the poster putting it there could have a different meaning.

Even in real life ,let me give you an example, I saw an elderly man who couldnt get on the bus yesterday, I was behind him ,I smiled to show him it's ok I don't mind ,he took offence and turned around to face me , "you think it's funny Cxnt" he said to me 😳😳

All that I'm saying is there are 5 positive emojis to show how one like or approve of a post, and

only 2 to show the opposite, though still not sure what the 'sad' emoji is suppose to mean,

sad about what? the poster, the topic or life in general?...

Wow some people must have a crappy life when 'emoji's' are their main focus of the day.

I guess the "sad" emoji is meant to show compassion to the topic .

You'd be surprised, and most are retirees in Thailand 😆

Yeah, i must admit, I'm just an elderly, rich retire that hasn't got much ells in his life other than to troll forums such

as this one and touch raw nerves, but unlike many of you, I have been here for over 20 years now and judging

from the over 65,000 responses i got, ( 95% of the are positive by the way) I think i have earned the right to

make myself heard even at the risk of being ridiculed by new comers...

reading posts here, and yeah, i expect tones of those Confused and sad emojis to this post.. don't disappoint me guys...

I just added a confused emoji to this post. And because you asked so nice, I will tell you why.

When I read above, I am confused why you write this post. What's your point?

There is no question in your post.

Should we all imagine what your question might be and answer that?

I am pretty sure most of us are not able to read your mind. So, we are kind of confused.

And that is such a situation for what this emoji was invented.

@ezzra maybe you should quit while you are ahead. Your topic is confusing and basically nobody has a clue on what you're trying to convey or argue about, or do they care. We all wish you a nice day and Sayonara.

I would agree with you on that.. Let's give it a rest for now as the topic has exhausted its purpose...

I understood his meaning, and even noticed a question, despite a lack of the usual punctuation to alert the not so observant.

The poster's grasp of the English language may not be the best and might grate with the nit pickers endemic in this forum, but despite appearances it hasn't yet denigrated to being a British only forum and there are still rules against discrimination of non-English speakers.

As i have mentioned before, I wasn't born in an English speaking country and i speak 3 other languages

including Thai, but i was surprised to learn that one can be and ridiculed and mocked for not using proper grammar

and pronounce in their posts, nevermind the merits of one's point he's trying to make, as long as they are using

the correct spelling and grammar...How lovely...

I love best when the British and the Americans get in a fight about the correct words :cheesy:

As a non English speaker I use whatever comes to my mind.

Motorway, freeway, sidewalk, footpath, pavement...

Who the hell cares!

When emojis were first introduced here I was against it, having seen how they were used on a rival forum.

I haven't changed my mind since.

150% of my lifetime emoji useage has been on this forum.

I just assume (correctly) that confused emoji's are usually impotent, passive aggressive leg-humping. Like the chav mopes here who dimly sputter, "Nut shure, WOT yer goin' on about, Moyt".

"I touched a nerve" is the weakest, dumbest, and most conveniently unverifiable claim on the internet -beneath even BigNok.

An interesting sentence and probably worthy of a confused emoji.

Taken literally it could mean the "boy" is about 8 years old.

For the people who post here and are upset about replies which they don't like.

Do it like the professionals, don't read any comments.

I watch podcasts from time to time and basically all the creators who have hundreds of thousands or more subscribers say they all get negative feedback. Not necessary because anything they did is wrong or negative, it just happens to everybody. The only sure way to avoid it is not to read it.

Personally I don't care. If I get positive feedback then I guess many people like what I write. If I get negative feedback then I guess many people don't like it. And maybe some are confused or at least use that emoji.

It is not my goal to collect as much positive feedback as possible. I like that people react the way they feel. So if anybody is confused for whatever reason, then click on confused. That's perfectly fine.

Whenever I log in, there's a number at the top of the page of the emoji's I'm going to see about what I posted.

It's like Forest Gump's box of chocolates. I know not which little yellow face it will be, but I'm always happy that someone cared.

If I've been in the mood to laugh at TrumpTrash, that emoji number will usually be in the double digits.

Nerve-touching or just that people like funny insults?

The poster your talking about identifies as Australian

Probably been in Australia 40 years but still can't speak the lingo

Wonderful.

But just in case that you feel like giving me negative feedback or if you are confused, then feel free to click on whatever emoji you like.

Or do what Dave from EEVblog does:

I could count on one hand the number of times I have used the sad or confused emoji ever. Total for this year: zero.

OMF I just gave you the love emoji & Ozimoron the "sad " emoji

And myself....the "confused" emoji 😂

You left out the most controversial word of all.

Football!

Everyone knows real football is what the Americans play.

Soccer is what the British play, along with their colonies that the sun never sets in.

Oh yes!  The convicts that arrived in Botany Bay from England were part of the colonies.

So they’re included.

But they do have their version of football.  Aussie rules it’s called.

Similar to Rugby, but never mention that to someone from Straya or you could be killed.

I met a fellow Australian here in the local town a couple of months ago and I could barely understand him because of his thick Italian accent. I was astounded when he told me he had lived in Sydney for many decades.

It seems my accent isn't any better here.  Nobody can understand my limited Thai.
