May I ask you guys that know.... My friend have a non immigrant O based on thai-wife, applied and received in Sweden. He was now to immigration office in Chaiyaphum, and he was refused to apply for extension of stay based on retirement, they said he must apply for marriage, due to that his Non Immigrant O was for thai-wife.

 

I thought that we could have whatever Non Immigrant O, and apply for whatever extension, marriage or retirement. What is you knowledge and experience of this stuff..???

Did not realise a non immigrant O had anything to do with a wife, usually they prefer retirement as less work

The first extension must be based on same reason as the non O application.

 

Subsequent extension you can change.n

In OP friends example he does first extension based on marriage and  next extension change to retirement

Immigration does prefer based on retirement as less paperwork.

A non O is based on something.

Marriage and Retirement two examples.

Should an agent make your Non-O here and you just come in as a tourist, not needed.
