my retired mate recently married a hot little nurse

Kindly help me to re=consider by offering what she gets out of the arrangement, aside from polishing his bald noggin and massaging his beer gut. Suppose she'll get a free wheelchair to poodle him around in later on ? Win =win !

That would be none of the business for the poor, lonely, probably old, bald, fat, drunken …and definitely bitter Mr Jealousy! 🤣

Roland was pissed because his new sugar-baby liked to gamble and wouldn't give him any more money to go to Pattaya to party (ThaiRath32). She also had a history of losing 100s of thousands of baht playing cards. So he choked her out in a fit a rage. The way he handled disposal of her body (using a motorbike to dump her in a corn field 6km away) tells me he had no plan. None of this is really surprising. The love of money (her's and his) led them to this place. Her gambling (trying to turn 13 million into 30 million), and his anger at not getting to spend her money as he wanted.

Fool should have left immediately, wanted to be arrested.

So you believe murderers should be allowed to roam free with not punishment?

Some years back, in Kata, Phuket, a member here on the Forum killed his Thai wife and put her in a garbage bin, kept the body in the basement of their home.

Eventually the law caught up to him. Wondering if he is still banged up or was able to pay his way out. Norwegian bloke I believe.

Stein Dokset (Katabeachbum), he was a moderator on Thaivisa and a Tourist Police Volunteer.

I believe is will be released this year.

RIP Ms. Orathai Posingam.

The scum who did this should be put in the Bangkok Hilton for life.

Oh Jeeze... this quality tourist thingy is spreading uncontrollably.

Confirmation on TV from a friend of his he had extramarital affairs. Actually he said he went to Pattaya many times, but with the help of her daughter and his phone, she realized he went instead in Korat in a house he built for his current 2nd office with his wife's money, which would be the cause of their last fight.
The thing about the wife gambling with her money seems secondary to his greed and stupidity.

What a tragical story. He really must have been desperate stopping her to spend time and money with gambling. And still loving her probably. 🙏

Yes he loved her to death. The hair cut you know he is bent with that

Wow. Have never heard of carting a murder victim around on a motorcycle before.
Amazing Thailand 🇹🇭

I've just seen CCTV footage on the news of him in the act of doing so.

It's likely he gagged her with the playing card placed over her mouth (perhaps as a lesson). However, in her struggles, the playing card ended up down her throat and strangled her.

Yeah you are dreaming again for sure. She will only be nice as its a new marriage, he will get zero benefits in hospitals from her being a nurse so he does need a insurance. Any other fake claims? Every farang that marries a Thai will always come up with these things, one way or another, how connected he is to Thailand with his special wife.

This very news report and incident, confirms exactly that. Even half a million dollars wasn't enough, she likely already gambled away 6M baht too.

The Thai woman got killed by a foreigner and still you are obsessed with bad Thai women, get a grip.

Ah... illegal gambling, and a gambling addicted wife, is at the root of this sorry saga. Probably in grubby but well organised " casinos" in the sticks, where they abound, even at funeral parties. The plod rarely  do anything about them. Why not? (rhetorical question).  1 million baht can be lost in just a few weeks and then the debts to loansharks multiply and go unpaid. He went too far in the heat of their last argument of probably many because he was watching his and her future going rapidly down the drain. Now it certainly has for them both. I feel sorry for him.

He was probably a useless POS too lazy to fund such ventures.  Obviously he relied on her wealth and good graces.  Rot in hell I say to that guy.  Assuming the reporting is correct of course.

"Obviously he relied on her wealth...".

Not "obvious", at all, nowhere was it reported that he was a lazy POS or that he relied on her wealth.

Strange that he fled to Pattaya instead of taking a long haul flight to a country with no extradition treaty with Thailand.

He didn't "flee to Pattaya",  he went to visit a friend suffering from cancer and then returned home a couple of days later.

Nope...look again. Many get this completely wrong.

It is in fact "the love of money is the root of all evil".

Also not quite correct. The love of money is the root of all KINDS of evils.

1 Timothy 6:10 ESV

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

Thaiexaminer said he went to Pattaya. I won't link it as I'm not sure if we can link to that site from here.

Spouses if government employees get full medical insurance coverage.

If she is a nurse in the public sector, he's covered.

I don't recall age of either in the relationship, or health status, hair style......being mentioned.

Assumptions? You know what "assume" does?
