Which AC better 4 reliability, endurance, service:Daikin/Panasonic. Supporting evidence?
So, PLEASE, if I may, suggest that we get back to the gist of the Topic: We are considering a comparison between Panasonic, Daikin, and (Maybe) Hitachi. The type of AC will have the following general specs: Suggested Retail price: Approx Bt55,000 to Bt62,000 Capacity: approx BTU of 24,000 SEER: At or above 21 Low noise on indoor and outdoor unit Excellent Thermostat control of room temperature ============= If we look at the specs, Panasonic is probably one of the best, if not THE best. However, if Daikin offers better reliability, better manufacturing process control and QC, and better customer service, and better and faster tech support, then this is a CRUCIAL consideration in this hot climate. DOWNTIME is unacceptable. When a problem happens, and the AC stops working, then one requires IMMEDIATE AND EXCELLENT support. So, then, how to compare these two brands? Also, Panasonic's offering is usually discounted to about Bt.44,000. But, Daikin's AC, of this type, is rarely sold for less than about Bt.60,000, as far as I have seen, recently. ================== But, if Daikin offers excellent service, and great tech support, and much more reliability, then the price difference is totally insignificant. So, this is what we are wondering about, and why we began this TOPIC in the first place. We just want to know which machine to buy.....to be happy for at least 5 years, without the Hassle of the other brand....I think. The extra money we might pay for a Daikin machine might be worth it..IF...we can do away with the customer support problems of the other brand. I am NOT saying that there might be problems with the other brand. I am just posing a hypothetical, here.....you understand..... =================== And: IF I were able to take the Hitachi Machine, the Hitachi AC, for a test-drive....FIRST....then....I would probably buy Hitachi....DUE TO the great Hitachi support here in Thailand. -

Economy Thailand Plans 10-Year Tourist Visa and 99-Year Land Lease to Boost Economy
How about KISS...keep it simple stupid 1. First 60 days visa free for most nations 2. Extensions are $1 usd per day up to one year payable in advance online or at immigration. 3. Any problems like arrests/convictions/overstays visa is canceled ,offender deported, $ forfeited. Quick appeals to legal panel permitted but no dragging it out forever. 4. Depending on severity of crime etc blacklist for one year to life. Cleans up a lot of the current mess and also perhaps sends a message that crimes/violence /overstays will not be tolerated. Not perfect but neither is having more and more complicated schemes that require jumping through hoop after hoop, paying agents, visa runs, etc. Of course it would also put a lot of the immigration folks and agents out of jobs which might mean fewer rolex watches or villas in france for those who want it more complicated not less. -

Is covid a hoax
Amazing that pre-Covid BTS photos from just 2018 can be shown in a thread and people still perpetuate the lie.⬆️ Covid wasn’t entirely a hoax….it separated the honest people from the dishonest ones.- 1

Is covid a hoax
The majority of older taxi drivers I encounter still do not wear glasses. It likely explains why so many sit so far forward with their nose almost pressed up against the windscreen. Plenty of Thais wore masks before covid. Not as many as the Japanese, but it was quite common on trains and buses. -

Economy Thailand Plans 10-Year Tourist Visa and 99-Year Land Lease to Boost Economy
Why is the word "tourist" mentioned in connection with a 10 year visa? Those on merely 1 year extensions are classed as non immigrant, -

Is covid a hoax
The main reason hospitals appeared empty was, unless you were really sick, why go to a place full of people sick with an easily transmittable illness? Keep in mind that even doctors with full PPE were getting sick and some even dying, from coming into contact with patients. I did need to go to a major hospital in Bangkok in early covid. All the entrances on each floor direct from the car parks were closed except one. The only other entrance was the main hospital entry. You had to complete a questionnaire and have your temperature checked before entering. This was long before covid tests. It was very quiet inside simply because most people didn't want to be even in the same building as anyone with covid. My wife has annual tests she put off for six months for this exact reason. You didn't see people in hospitals with covid because they were kept in isolation wards away from general visitors. In my mooban, five people I know of died from covid within three hundred meters of my house, three I knew well enough to say hello to. Two women in their fifties, and a sixty-year-old lady. They seemed outwardly healthy, but maybe they had some underlying chronic disease I wasn't aware of. A cousin of my wife also died; he was only forty years old, but he was type one diabetic and overweight. Try: Thailand + Covid + Carpark + Hospital This January, where I live in Bangkok, about half the people wore masks due to the PM 2.5 risk. I can remember it being the same in the months just before covid. It was one reason masks were in such short supply even from the very start of covid. I sometimes wonder if the people who deride ever wearing masks because they have healthy immune systems have spent much time in Thailand when dust levels are 100+ for days on end. In ten or twenty years' time, don't be surprised at the increase in people with COPD, due to not taking the simple precaution of wearing a mask when outside at certain times of the year, more so if they engaged in strenuous outdoor exercise.
