Doctors from Hua Hin Hospital and the Thai Red Cross Society have posthumously honoured a 13 year old patient for donating organs following his tragic death.

Patcharaphon Srilert, 13, from Hua Hin recently passed away from a brain aneurysm, with his family choosing to donate his organs to assist numerous patients awaiting treatment.

The donated organs, which include the liver, kidneys, and heart valves were transported from Hua Hin Hospital to Chulalongkorn Hospital by the Thai Red Cross.

The mission to transport the organs began in the early hours of February 7, 2024, when a dedicated team of surgeons, nurses, and support staff from Chulalongkorn Hospital, in collaboration with the Thai Red Cross, made their way to Hua Hin Hospital.

Props to the parents.....   the selfless gesture of giving life...

This needs to be given a lot more publicity across Thailand so that everyone knows that even in a time of heartbreak something good can be done.

I wish this were automatic of all deaths (in any country) whereby donation is the norm and if any parent specifically wishes for organs not to be donated they have to make that additional request.

Rather a toxic comment that... is any evidence or information anywhere that the parents earned money for allowing the child's organs to be donated and saving the life of another, or are you spinelessly highlighting a certain degree of vapid toxicity on your part as an unwarranted Thai-bash ?????

The parents decided to donate his organs after a brain aneurysm. Highly possible the boy had no say in the matter. A better head line would have been " Parents decide to donate sons organs after passing away from having a brain aneurysm . But maybe I'm splitting hairs

Criminals who are given the death penalty should be listed as "volunteer" to donate their organs as well.

Was that comment necessary?

While they're still alive?

There have been just three executions in 20 years +; two in 2009, one in 2018.
