Air quality is in the news again, with pollution levels being extremely bad currently.

I looked at the maps for Thailand, but the sensor coverage outside of Bangkok is quite poor.

Wouldn't it be nice to get more sensors up and running so we could have more data about our localities ?

What is needed to setup an air quality measurement station and publish its data to the internet-based air pollution map sites ?

Who did it already ?

Any recommendations about which devices work well ?

I asked the same question a while back on the Samui forum.

Had lots of good answers but they were unsuitable for what I wanted.

It seems that all of the sensors are rechargeable via a USB cable. I wanted to put the sensor on the wall outside of my house.

MOVED to correct forum

thanks!

it's not a green topic though.

"green" suggests a green political agenda.

I think that's why it didn't register as the correct place to post - and I didn't even see the air pollution forum.

may I suggest renaming the green forum into "environmental topics forum" ?

EDIT:

on a second thought "environmental topics" wouldn't nail it either.
I'm splitting hairs.

Definately no need for a sensor in Hua Hin with daily smells of burning crops or plastic waste. Mainly in the Black Mountain area in Hin Lek Fai.
