flyingtlger Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 I remember when Krabi was not over crowded. Now, the boats fight for space to land on. I'm surprised more accidents have not occurred....
Popular Post VinnieK Posted February 20, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 20, 2024 Thais and their love of speed...can get you killed. Any chance of a post-mortem on the captain? Alcohol and/or ya baa in the system? Ganja? All of the above? 2 1 1
Popular Post hotchilli Posted February 20, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 20, 2024 What was that said the other day about a push for marine safety and that everyone aboard must wear a life jacket? Seem the Captain ignore the memo. 2 1

Totally agree, i was there during Covid and it was fantastic, hardly any long tails, spotless beaches, clean water and no Chinese / Russian ( or many other tourists ). 2 1
Popular Post steven100 Posted February 21, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 21, 2024 how does only the Captain die when two boats collide when there are 31 others on board ? isn't the Captain usually in the wheelhouse steering the vessel ? the story doesn't make any sense, it doesn't explain what led to the Captains death. 1 1 2

Well, the "captain" sits in a long boat at the engine by steering the boat. If another boat hits in this area it might be fatal. Q.e.d. 1 1
Srikcir Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 Maybe the Captain was thrown from the boat, had no life vest and he can't swim? 1
brianthainess Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 So his body has now been found. That's it just a regurgitated story otherwise. 1 1

Just wait for the next High seas and winds; the captains decision to go to sea was his own downfall, they never seem to bother checking weather forecasts, as canceling a trip would lose them Money.

Seem the Captain ignore the memo. Everyone ignores the memo… … there’s always sone announcements made by someone in a position of authority with such hubris that they believe the mere announcement alone is sufficient… … crackdown on marine safety. … crackdown on van safety. … crackdown on cheating taxi’s … crackdown on… etc etc etc… Nothing happens, the apathy of those in positions of decision making power is ever present. 1 1
Roo Island Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 We took a boat from Koh Lanta to Lipe a few years ago. The "captain" had long scraggly hair, lots of tats, dirty clothes, and...was smoking as they loaded big cans of petrol onboard. Guaranteed, no license or certification. The boat looked homemade and no one was forced to wear a life vest. A horrible ride.
actonion Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 Captain my A$$ , no better than a motorbike taxi driver, if that
