There is something called AI that can take on jobs when the population declines, but first you have to invest in technology and stop thinking in terms of farmers and laborers only.

And what is wrong with less population?

Means anticipated decline in GDP and consumer spending and available labor, means less investment/business development from multinationals in anticipation, now.

Most governments use debt that works well when the economy grows, but not well if it shrinks.

Any large-scale & long-term change - over which, by definition, individuals have no control - has to be good for a sclerotic culture unable to see much beyond the end of its nose.

Blimey, the pickings in the girly bars are poor enough these days (I was going to say 'slim enough', but that's clearly not the case, lol), I wouldn't want to be a Gogo Bar owner in 2085.

Government needs to provide financial incentives for married couples to have children. Monthly baby bonuses, low cost quality child care, etc. Support families to have more children!

A higher birth rate in the past has led to a large elderly population now. Increasing the birth rate will only help in the short term as the increase will lead to the increase population eventually becoming elderly. Unless the government intends to constantly increase the population. This pyramid scheme will end up like all pyramid schemes, they go bust because they are unsustainable.

Investment in technology and education with a decrease in rampant consumerism is the only way out.

Does AI pay income taxes?

Nothing if planned for it.

"Population Decline Will Change the World for the Better,"

May 4, 2023  https://www.scientificamerican.com

  • "Shifting to a model based on degrowth and equity alongside lower fertility rates will help fight climate change and increase wealth and well-being
  • immigration can help soften some of the demographic blows by bringing younger people into aging countries.
  • managing consumption, prioritizing social and environmental welfare over profits, valuing cooperation and recognizing the need for a range of community-driven solutions

However, a State with a tightly controlled nationalism may lose some of its character, or as it's called in Thailand -"thainess."

Can always import Africans.  No sign of population decline over there.

Don't worry. They'll be finding their way soon enough when they hear about our paradise and its ladies. Together with a flock of single male muslims.

And Jews.

Thailand will be fine. Nothing to worry about.😉

Don't worry about that.

First of all, you won't be around to see the carnage. And second, by then there won't be any more of these establishments. Only places where dudes like you and me strutt our stuff on stage in front of obese feminists.

working-age populace dwindling from 46 million to a mere 14 million

In 60 years time there will be hardly any jobs,  Everything will be done by AI.   Should be more worried how there will be even enough work for 14 million.

If you celebrate reducing population, you won't mind drastic cuts in all public services as there's no one to work in crucial areas. Literally no one - as they are not born. You are seeing this happen already - in twenty years time it will be catastrophic.
