Hi guys,

How much do you spend on a typical night (or day) out?

In total, including food, drinks, your partner's food & drinks (if any), transport, tips, entertainment, and whatever else...........

I am sure it can vary, but roughly what's the typical damage?

How does it compare to a night out in your home country?

Hi guys,

How does it compare to a night out in your home country?

That's apple & oranges, as yet to dine anywhere that would compare to my past dining out in the USA.  $1-200 USD, w/drinks (alcohol), but also 24 yrs ago.  So 2X today, at a guess.

USA ... fine dining & ambiance

TH ... lucky to have AC ... :coffee1:

Dined out this evening, and it was ฿300.

Me .. Khao Nuea, no rice, (big serving of beef, 1 egg (think Khao Moo), roti, spring rolls, ฿120/30/20

Wife ... Beef Massaman, roti, rice/veggie/noodle thingy, 50/10/20

Water 20 (2), egg tarts (2) ฿20/30   TTL ฿300 and we were stuffed.

Usual is anywhere between ฿300 and ฿800, if that.  Have spent more on special occasions, lunch or dinner with daughter & partner (that boy can put  food away), @ Krung Thep, and in the ฿2k-3k range.   None of us drink alcohol, though if getting smoothies or whatever, cost the same or more than small beers.

Our 2 local favorite place (AC'd) and we're usually out of there <฿400,  We really don't eat out much locally, and mostly when O&A, as we are now, at Hat Yai.

I dont go out at night.

Average daily spend on food/drinks/entertainment is Bt400.00.

Depending on where we are, but in bangkok between 3-8k for two fine dining.

Other times we are fine with 600 baht

Seems you don't go out during the day either

As you said your housebound and terminally ill ,whether that's true or not my sympathy to you 💜

I don't usually go out in the evening (busy teaching online).  My daily spend in an upmarket restaurant in Luang Prabang (Laos) is the equivalent of 163 baht

I dont recall every saying I was housebound and terminally ill though... do you have the right person ?

I spend slightly less than I usually lose in the back of the taxi.🤔

We prefer to order in dinner from nice restaurants, about 800-1,000 baht.

If we're in Bangkok (very, very infrequently), it's about $250 for two at a 5* place like Sorn or Akira Black (both strong recco's). YOLO, and these places would be double, at least, in the west.

How does that work?

Above 50 bucks, I start to think about stuff in terms of "real money".

Took 25k on my night out in bkk last month.

The gents club had a minimum 3k bar spend per person.

I and the rest of the forum members should not have to.

Plenty of pedants here to jerk you off.

Perma-ignore. Starting right now.

They say a fool and his money are soon parted

But ...as your nearly 80 .....spend it Dad ....you can't take it with you !

3 nights dining out in BKK now 2 persons. Average 3 500 food and drinks.

Went to the famous Argentinian restaurant next to Terminal 21 for lunch. Two soda, one glass of wine, Lamb chops and sirlon beef with sauce and sharing fries, 3 310,- baht. The price isnt that bad compare to what they used to be, but now? Last time we visit there, and itbis sad, because we always used to go there while we are in BKK.
