March 27, 20241 yr Hello good people. I'm Iranian and planning a trip to Thailand in mid-August. There's a chance of visiting another country as well however where and if ever that happens has not been decided. my question is since Iranians can no longer apply for double entry tourist visas , can i apply for a Re-Entry permit? i'm planing for 30 days trip which at least half of will be in Thailand. last time i used a Re-Entry was in 2015 and i don't know if laws have changed specially after covid. Appreciate your help/info.
March 27, 20241 yr Troll post removed. To answer our OP. I don't think anything has changed; others may be more up to date. Please don't forget that a Re-Entry Permit is only valid until the end of your current permission to stay, it doesn't give any extra time in country. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
March 27, 20241 yr Popular Post OP, my understanding is that Iranian citizens require a tourist visa for Thailand You could obtain a reentry permit to enable you to exit Thailand and reenter via land or air. Note the reentry permit can be obtained at the airport on day of departure.
March 29, 20241 yr Author @Crossy and @DrJack54 thank you both for your answers. tbh governments tend to change tourist laws every now and then and following rule changes is only matters for me when i want to travel!
April 4, 2025Apr 4 Author Hi. Sorry to bump this thread after a long time. I'm traveling to Thailand again and this time i have the same question but with a twist! Explanation: - I'm Iranian and my trip to Thailand will happen in July. - I have another flight from Bangkok to Bali (to and return) mid-July. - After returning from Bali, I will stay in Thailand again for a few days. - My flight for Bali is with Thai Lion Air. - My travel agent asked and confirmed that i need to get a visa when entering the country on board a Thai Lion Air plane. - My question is can i apply for a re-entry permit instead of a visa? (for visa i need to apply for a double tourist visa beforehand)
April 4, 2025Apr 4 Author BTW i called the Thai Embassy here but unfortunately the person tried to help me was actually not helpful! But she said to call again in two weeks time so she can answer my questions.

April 4, 2025Apr 4 Author Let me add a few details i should have said in my previous post: - I will stay in Thailand for a week before departing to Bali. I'll get a Thai tourist visa for this. - When i come back from Bali i will stay in Thailand again for 5 days. - My flight to and from Bali are with Thai Lion Air. Thailand's law for passengers of this airline (and several others) requires me to get a visa when entering a Thai airport if i'm a passenger of this airline. So my question is: will getting a Re-entry permit be enough for me to enter the country on my return from Bali or i should get a visa Since the law doesn't mention re-entry permit? *** To add another detail: I'm Iranian and that law applies to Iranians not every nationality.

When you enter Thailand on a tourist visa you will receive a 60 day permission of stay stamp. If you purchase a reentry permit you can travel to Bali and reenter Thailand with that reentry permit. Thinking that this is a "lost in translation" issue with the airline. I cannot see an issue. Aside: off topic but your travel itinerary I wouldn't wish on anyone.

He would not have valid visa after entry to Thailand on a single entry tourist visa. However he will be given a permission of stay stamp and the expiry of that can be protected by a reentry permit.

I have visited most of the attractions. However there are reasons for this itinerary as you say. One is i found a cheap ticket to Bangkok and then again a cheap ticket for Bali from Bangkok. My original plan was Bali but everything considered (ticket, visa, re-entry) i'm paying about 300USD less if i wanted to go straight to Bali. The other reason is i want to meet a friend in Thailand and i have his birthday present with me. Anyway thanks for replies. I think this issue is solved.
