Republicans slam Biden for proclaiming Transgender Day of Visibility on Easter

Republicans are criticizing President Joe Biden for proclaiming Easter Sunday as the Transgender Day of Visibility, despite the two occasions coinciding only by chance this year. While Easter Sunday falls on a different date each year, the Transgender Day of Visibility is observed annually on March 31st.

 

The Transgender Day of Visibility, established in 2009 to celebrate the achievements of transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals, was marked by Biden's proclamation this year. However, some Republicans seized on this to condemn the president. Former President Donald Trump's campaign labeled it "appalling and insulting," while House Speaker Mike Johnson accused the Biden administration of betraying Easter's central message.

 

In response, White House spokesperson Andrew Bates defended Biden's proclamation, stating that as a Christian who celebrates Easter, the president upholds the dignity and freedoms of every American. Bates criticized the divisive rhetoric used by politicians and affirmed Biden's commitment to never exploiting his faith for political gain.

 

Biden's proclamation highlighted the courage and contributions of transgender Americans, emphasizing their right to equality and freedom. The president condemned Republican-led efforts to curtail protections for transgender individuals, such as restricting gender-affirming care for minors and excluding trans women from participating in sports teams aligned with their gender identity.

 

The national debate surrounding transgender rights has intensified, with Republican lawmakers advocating for stringent laws targeting transgender individuals. Trump has notably promised to "ban men from participating in women's sports," reflecting a broader trend of anti-LGBTQ initiatives at both state and federal levels.

it's hard to read posts like this. a few moments of searching on youtube for videos will settle this.

 

the fact people honestly believe biden is in any better shape than trump is quite scary. 

 

there are dozens and dozens of videos over the last few years alone of biden fumbling and mumbling constantly. i challenge you to find more than a few videos that show trump needing *a handler in the park* more than biden.

Apparently the Republicans will be celebrating Easter on 31st March in future which also happens to be International Transgender Day of Visibility is an annual event occurring every March 31 since 2009.

 

The rest of the world knows that Easter does not fall on the same days each year.

They have the right to be whatever they want, as long as it doesn't break the law.

 

Restricting gender-affirming care for minors and excluding trans women from participating in sports teams aligned with their gender identity is IMO an entirely proper thing to do. Children have no idea what they want to be when they grow up and are easily swayed by fads, while genetic males have a built in advantage over real women in sports. I'd have thought that was self evident.
