We see stories about jealous Thai guys about other Thai guys in the news.

And there are stories about farangs jealous about other farangs.

I can't remember reading or hearing a story where a Thai guy and a farang guy desired the same woman.

It seems most of the time we have different taste.

 

And then there are Miss Thailand and similar competitions. I can't remember any good comments from farangs about the white winners.

However, you made a different and more valid point. The arrival of the younger expatriate generation has increased competition for young Thai men. It's not unusual to see middle-class girls dating and marrying stable younger farangs. That is starting to annoy some younger Thai men as their general xenophobia mixes with sexual jealousy. All of these relationships that I am aware of are thriving. One friend has just given birth to her second baby, she lives near The Somme, France. I can't think of any relationships that have broken up but neither do I have a drone pursuing pals across the world. 

 

So, no - Thai men are content to allow farangs wrestle with the sex trade "belle's" 

 

And, yes - they don't like having their better ladies stolen away.

Middle to upper (hi-so)....    and this doesn't bother the Thai guys in the slightest IMO and there are plenty of women available, just as there were in any country (or were before I met my Wife).

 

'Cos those others in the market are still well and truly in the market, and they are smart and of sufficient status not to worry about another foreigner of equal smart and sufficient status any more than another other guy.... 

 

 

Regarding the lower status females and males....   thats their issue...   Its like fighting over a 10 to 2 bird in shi££y ritzy night club in a crappy backward UK town....    pathetic and not worth it....      we just have to be careful to 'judge the room' where-ever we are, because a lot of us struggle recognise the social dynamic.

Yes. Thai economy is down and girls here always look for better options, so now likely more eyes are on foreigners or the good money stories of girls who do do foreigners already. 
 

Thai guys are aware we make 3-5-10-20x daily what they do, thats why they are always vigilant AF when walking with their girls on the market. 
 

But its not as if thai guys are jealous on us with the discarded girls they no longer wanted once they hit 22 or older. No thats really not the case.

 

It is their girlfriends who secretly eye us or our girlfriend or both, or gossip and talk with friends abt money and foreigners.

 

in a way, imagine we are them, i would also see the foreigner as a threat / enemy. In fact even we are not, any guy who likes our girls, and has more money, doesnt look worse, is a threat.

The only thing you are right about on that end is that they would try to date and certainly not do a short time or for money. Even all of them cost money sooner or later.

1. Thai men do not seem to be interested in a divorcee over 40. 

 

2. Thai men do not seem to be interested in a woman who has children with her last boyfriend or husband. 

 

3. I barely think we factor into the equation, if there's a half a million expats here in Thailand and every single one of them had a Thai girlfriend or wife, that's just a small percent of the population of women, so I don't think we're really that big a factor. 

 

4. My woman is quite young and attractive and she does get attention from Thai men, but I've never once gotten a nasty look from a Thai man, or even a disapproving glance. So that kind of backs up my theory. We just don't matter much.

And unless you have very deep pockets will be hard to maintain that level of expense for long...and that's when things start to go South. "But I bought you a new car and gold 2 months ago?" That was 2 months ago....this is now. I have been here ten years and from what I have seen we are the last resort for those in debt or in trouble. And even then the lowest in Thai society see us as a last resort, or a step down and expect to be renumerated for it. Age difference doesn't seem to factor into it greatly either. Got a mate of mine now in his late 30's, good looking guy, wife the same age going through hell. Nearly every woman I met here or know of who said Thai men were no good, beat them, were lazy etc had those exact traits themselves and either went back to a Thai man or  had a Thai man in the background all along. I cant think of one relationship I know of that has been successful or happy. At best they are still together but both miserable or the guy only there because he has put all his assets in her name and out of options. These are only my first hand experiences. The dating game post 30's isn't a lot better back home. Broken people from broken marriages (men and women) with many issues. I am sure there are many good women here but like back home most of the gooduns will have been scooped up early in their 20's. Goes for guys and gals. On the positive side was in a discussion here a few years ago some guy complaining his wife was lazy etc and another guy said be thankful they are like that otherwise they wouldn't want anything to do with us old codgers. Very true. Many of us are older guys, maybe not in the best of shape. Don't delude yourself into thinking a Thai woman is with you because of your sexual skills or good looks or be looking for true love. Accept it and make the most of whats available. You just have to work out what are the good points and advantages of living in Thailand and make the most of it....try and avoid the pitfalls....one being getting married and entrusting your life / life savings / future / assets into someone you barely know with very little education life skills or morals.

Of course I since  learned how they are like pimps and even saw BF's dropping off their GF's on soi cowboy.   And most thai women seen with older Western men were not desired by most thai men.

Elkski, it has been a trend for quite some time now for desirable Thai ladies (highly educated, young, middle-class,childless and previously unmarried), to choose younger foreign/western guys. I am in such a relationship myself, and we got married last year (and marry her you must). Can't speak for all similar relationships,  of course, but we have met nothing but acceptance and goodwill in Thailand, both from friends, family and strangers. It seems to help that we are comparable in age, looks, and also in income and social status. I believe the main motivation, for ladies like my wife, to marry a foreigner, is that they are happier with a guy with a modern mind and mindset, who treats them like an equal partner.

Yes common, i heard one recent story that the farang let the gardener/handyman move in because the farang 70s couldn't satisfy his thai wife 30s anymore, from the horses mouth
