A violent confrontation at Saphan Hin in Phuket resulted in a youth being stabbed in the early hours of this morning.

The conflict arose between two factions early this morning near the Phuket Extreme Sports Stadium. Phuket City Police were notified and arrived at the scene at 4.13am, today, April 11.

The aftermath of the conflict was apparent. A damaged Honda Wave motorbike with a Phang Nga registration lay abandoned on the road. Broken beer bottles and iron bars littered the area, a clear indication of the violence that had occurred. A short distance away, a knife, presumably the weapon used in the stabbing, was found alongside bloodstains.

The victim, identified as Chai (pseudonym), sustained a stab wound to his back during the melee. By the time authorities arrived, he had already been transported to the Phuket Provincial Hospital for treatment.

According to the preliminary investigation by the police, a group of 10 to 15 youths were in the area when they were approached by a smaller group of four on two motorbikes. The latter group instigated the conflict, leading to a verbal altercation that quickly escalated into a physical brawl.

Following the assault, the group of four fled the scene, leaving their injured associate behind. They had alerted the police to the incident, reported Phuket News.

The investigation is ongoing as the police intend to press charges. Efforts are being made to identify the youths involved in the incident, with local CCTV footage being viewed in an attempt to trace the assailants.

In related news, a mentally ill Thai man hit a fellow citizen in the head with a glass bottle and later stabbed the victim with the broken bottle at a shopping mall in the Sattahip district of Chon Buri on April 7.

Plutaluang Police Station officers received a report on the stabbing incident at about 3.30pm on Sunday and quickly responded to the scene at the shopping mall in the Sattahip district of Chon Buri.

I guess after 04:00 there's not much else to do, except find some people to have a scrap with ?
