webfact
THE MANHUNT for the Marble Arch murderer today (Apr. 110 took a new turn after police named and released the first picture of the dual Hong Kong-Thai woman who was found stabbed to death inside her £4 million property. Police today named the victim of the horrific stabbing as Kamonnan Thiamphanit whose body was discovered by officers after they forced entry to a property in Stanhope Place, Bayswater, at approximately 8.30 a.m. on Monday, April 8. Officers were contacted on Sunday by friends of the 27-year-old who were concerned about her welfare but only attended the scene more than 13 hours later. Kamonnan, known as Angela, lived at the address, which residents have said they believe was being used as an Airbnb and until four years ago was rented by the Ethiopian Embassy. Neighbours of the Grade II-listed Georgian property on the edge of Hyde Park told MailOnline they heard two “high-pitched screams” and then a harrowing “silence” hours before her body was found with stab injuries. It is thought Kamonnan may have known her attacker as the five-storey house has a video entry system at the front door – and there was no sign of forced entry before officers entered on Monday morning. The Met have launched a murder investigation following the tragic incident, vowing to “ensure whoever is responsible is held to account”, although no arrests have yet been made. Detective Chief Inspector Adam Clifton, who leads the investigation, said: “My team continues to work tirelessly to piece together the events that led to Kamonnan’s murder. “I would like to thank local residents for their patience while we have gone about our work at the scene. “I would appeal to anyone who has information that could assist us, no matter how insignificant you think that may be, to come forward and speak to us. “Kamonnan’s family and friends have been devastated by this murder and we must ensure whoever is responsible is held to account.” By Dan Woodland, Daily Mail Online TOP: Kamonnan Thiamphanit, who was found stabbed to death at a £4 million home near Hyde Park. Muhendis
Accuracy about the property value is, for me, irrelevant. Anything over £200k is generally ignored. 1

Popular Post Dogmatix
Not a lot of information on this case or the unfortunate victim. Thai language reports are translations of what was in the British press. She was said to have a Hong Kong passport as well as a Thai one and went to the UK in September to join a British husband who is not named in any of the reports and no mention of them living together. Since she had a HK passport and there is nothing so far about her life or family in Thai media, it is possible she wasn’t brought up in Thailand and has no close family here, although more may emerge in Thai language media later. The place she was murdered was a 5 bedroom terrace house in Marble Arch 200 yards from Hyde Park that served as the Ethiopian embassy until 4 years ago. Now thought to be an AirBNB. She can’t have been there more than a few days, as neighbours said a Swedish family was renting over Easter. In that area there are AirBNB 2 bed flats offered at 400 pounds plus a night and a 6 bed house at 1,840 a night. So the house in Stanhope Place must have been renting at north of 1,000 pounds a night. Not your average young Thai lady joining a British hubby in the UK and no suggestion she is from an ultra wealthy Thai or HK family. Dogmatix
24 minutes ago, BritManToo said: Hooker killed by Ambassador on diplomatic passport. So far only one photo of her which looks very posed with her holding a probably fake antiquarian book as a prop. She was young and appeared pretty in the photo but didn’t look overtly like a bar girl or hooker. It’s a rather romantic type shot. The plod have been slow off the mark but lots of material for them to investigate. Friends who reported her unresponsive need will provide details of her life in London. There is CCTV, her visa status in UK - if she really had a HK passport, she could travel on that to the UK without visa. Who rented the very expensive 5 bedroom house in prime London area. Was she staying there alone? Are the reports about a British husband true? 4
Dogmatix
6 minutes ago, smew said: It is ridiculous to call police every-time you hear screams. One of the reports said just one neighbour heard the screams. She was said to have lived there for 50 years, so must be fairly elderly. She reportedly said she heard two screams and would have poked her head out the window, if she had heard a third. But presumably she left it at that when there were no more screams. It seems the scream count was well short of her criterion for calling the unresponsive plod. After poking her head out the window, she might have needed to see a body fall from an upstairs window before making the call.

Korat Kiwi
My biggest concern with this, as others have highlighted... 13 hours for Mr Plod to arrive! Overworked and underpaid? Too many more important tasks at hand? Is the scene in England got that bad that this is accepted as normal? Things in NZ are quite bad too but a response is normally quicker, unless it's something like burglary, theft or damage. Then forget about seeing anyone. But anything involving domestic violence or weapons brings a rapid response. Poor lady. Hope the catch the fiend.
