Can't seem to find a decent silicone sealer?

Featured Replies

Strange question but cant seem to find a clear / white silicone, type you use for water proofing edges, bathrooms, wet areas etc. Bog standard silicone sealer in a tube or cartridge that actually goes off and firm. Back home silicone gets a skin on it in 10 minutes and sets firm maybe 6-8 hours. Here it seems to be still tacky and sticky days after, tried quite a few different types too. Only use it once in a while so tend to just get a small tube from hardware, but tried a few gun cartridges too. Funnily enough always seems to have gone off in the tube even well sealed should I go to reuse the open tube or cartridge a few months later

could it be that because it's hotter here and it takes more time to cure?

Are you sure it is silicone and not an acrylic sealer...?

But, in the DIY store there are a zillion to choose from, look at the more expensive brand name ones....😋

Get the ACETIC cure one, check small writing on the tube, thats

the one I use to make aquariums so it's strong

I recently bought some contact cement that simply does not work. I took the tube and used google lens to translate the chinese words and it said, please get us out of here or some cray <deleted>.
