Yes, some people don’t expect to pay triple prices for everything and get angry. You cannot expect a respectability from somebody you openly rob. 

You haven't a clue what you're talking about. Anyone can charge anyone whatever fee they choose for a service, and that's not robbery. That's commerce. Hospitals will inform you in advance what the fees will be, and it's up to you, your choice, to accept the services or not. Not robbery. You also have the choice to get insurance or not. These are things every adult knows. Responsible adults. Maybe you need a grade school level dictionary. Look up robbery and a few other words you seem to not understand. There is no justification for getting angry in such situations, it's not mature adult behavior - are you emotionally unstable or chronically ill tempered? I've had nothing but great and satisfying experiences in Thai hospitals over the last 10 years, they showed me respect and I showed it to them. Russians are well known for their bad attitudes and behavior. I've seen it many times. If you think it's so bad here, Go back where you came from, you're just as bad as the Russians, and we don't want or need you here. Or, maybe you're Russian? In which case, please self deport back to your daddy Putin. Nobody wants to hear whiny chronic complainers repeating the same old exaggerated victim stories.

555 - to expect respectful behavior from Russians is about same as expecting Norwegians to have brown skin and thick curly black hair, or say a  bird move around by walking instead of flying i.e not impossible but fairly rare occurrence statistically.

It is a two way street. The Thais treat doctors like gods and do not question any abuse. I will concede that a doctors time is more valuable than mine but not infinitely so. The system can be broken for the benefit of and deference to the staff.

Most of the clueless complaining commenters, as usual because of their insensitivity to Thai people and how they conduct themselves, will not understand and appreciate that for Thais to voluntarily undertake sensitivity training to try to de escalate confrontations that are in no way their fault, is a testament to their cultural sense of courtesy and politeness which is an example that the rest of the world fails miserably to measure up to. The hospital staff do not deserve to be denigrated or ridiculed for wanting to take the high road and voluntarily do their best to make things better. I doubt most of you are capable of doing the same, to your own detriment. And nothing of the sort exists in your home countries, certainly not the US where I'm from, hence I choose to live here without complaining

Not to defend badly behaving Russians, but some of the biggest Aholes I have met in Thailand were and are English and Australians! So does that meet that All of them are Aholes? Probably not!

Regardless of Nationality , all people must be polite and courteous not only in a Hospital Environment, but in All Places !

To be fair, how many of these people would have been unable to afford, or would have been refused, a visa?

 

I think they would all have got a visa and would be here even if there were no free visa scheme.

 

of course, had the Thai government decided to reduce the number of Russians by making a visa very hard to obtain, that would be a different matter.

Good to see all the racist comments, but lets ignore poor service and treatment in public hospitals, lack of English, long queues, and doctors who do not know the difference between antibiotic and antiinflammation.

 

rooms with 20 people, dirty and smell, totally disinterested nurses, unless you tip them 500-800 per day

 

Here is some flash news, with influx of people, number of hospitals or medical staff has not increased hence not enough to cater, hence rudeness. 

 

Solutions, either build more hospitals or double number of medical staff and bring in Russians who speak English and some Thai as translators and font guest relations officers.

 

Private hospitals do not seem to have problems with rudeness, do they?

Thailand has no one to blame but themselves for allowing the Russians to come in and hide out in phuket and take over the place, it's all about money to Thias but when the sh*& hits the fan they complain. They are starting to see the cost of loving  money now?  And to be honest what do they expect from a culture that are basically intitled pheasants with money, the  very low rung on the barrel but they think they are  the bomb (Russian importance bubble) get rid of them no one else wants them in the world so Thailand remove them or cop it sweet. 

But been rude to hostipal staff is not  right they are trying to help you. But don't worry there be a private run Russian only Hostipal soon in sure in Phuket soon enough anyway.

I'm a little confused by this, as the common way for Thais dealing with abusive and/or aggressive behaviour is to simply look through the aggressor as if they don't exist. It's very effective and the aggressor either calms down or is completely ignored. They eventually get the message.

Sorry but its the Thai's fault for all the crimes being committed by the impact of Russians, particularly on Phuket where they are allowed to do more or less what they want as long as money is passed into the right hands. Even Vachira Hospital has now had to issue a statement regarding their behavior. You can only stick your head in the sand for so long and tell everyone it is still paradise that's how they think but you know the Rot has set in and its Not Paradise anymore you caused it with your greed.

Because "profits over people" is a constant in society.  This kind of behavior obviously could be solved quickly by just refusing service to anyone that violates your policy.  But that would cost money.
