He was sentenced to 25 years in prison, a far cry from a slap in the wrist. I dare say Thai prison sentences are much more lax (especially if the accused has. $$ to share )

This is how all crime should be reported in the US. A person with a legal document such as citizenship and then state their race/ethnicity. You can't just say "American" anymore because basically the entire world resides in the USA now and they all behave differently and have different cultures. 2 4

TSA agents are not Law Enforcment Officers and do not have access to criminal wants and warrants databases. When one enters the USA from an international port of enty CBP(Customs and Border Protection) officers decide if one can enter or not. CBP officers are Federal Law Enforcement Officers. This person's passport should have been surrendered to the court. This decision rests on the judge who is presiding over criminal proceedings over this person. Thanks for the info
Cabradelmar Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 The guy was fleeing a 25 year sentence for crimes committed in the US. He has been in and out of Oregon jails going back to at least 2015. How he managed to get out of the US so easily is another matter altogether. At least he was caught. A true dirt bag. Just goes to show that Thailand will always a go-to destination when criminals are on the run. 1
JeffersLos Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 He was already sentenced to 25 years in America, but fled on parole?? https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/se-asia/thai-police-arrest-american-fleeing-25-year-jail-term

He's not in Thailand so the RTP cannot do anything about him outside their jurisdiction and no other country is interested in a man who is wanted in Thailand for a traffic offence who has committed no offences in their countries.

jesimps Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Thailand never seems to have any trouble returning foreign criminals to their country of origin. Why can't the UK do that with its incoming criminals. We can't get them to beat it even when we offer to pay and house them abroad.
john donson Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 strange that those serial offenders are always released on bail or early.... one case of sexploitation of other humans should offer him lead to the brain or at least, life in prison, no parole the name is typical american? lol... and from asean descent... thought it sounded south american-ish

Another comment from someone who most likely has never been there, and only goes by what he sees in videos. When he's brought to trial, finally, he won't see the light of day for years, or never again, and if any of his charges are against minors, he will be beaten to a pulp with regularity. Living here, he would have gotten into the cult of human trafficking that runs rampant here and is protected by some officials.

By the typical incompetance seen in the US almost everywhere. And maybe Thailand should require criminal checks before handing out tourist visas and exempt stamps to all an sundry. 1

Seems he really doesn't even have to hide at all as he is an "untouchable". For all the talk from top govt officials about eliminating corruption not one of them apparently is willing to take on the red bull protectors all of which should also be in jail. Further, given the total time since the 'accident' and the involvement of many officers, must be several hundred who have been bought in some way. So how could there ever be any successful court action. 1

Hanuman2547 Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 I'm surprised he was hanging out in Bangkok. Usually, the foreign criminals head to Pattaya or Phuket. I'm hoping that he is sent back soon to the state or Oregon, USA where he can serve out his sentence.

Had he been in NYC, they amended their laws about thefts because they were getting too many people stealing from the stores - now, if the amount of stolen material is less than a thousand dollars then that is no crime. Now stores are having to close totally because of the gangs coming in stealing the merchandise and when the police nab the offenders, they just have to let them go as "no crime committed". 1 1

Killing a policeman, one would think that would never go away without a trial... money rules! Look at all those pollution breathing locals ... can't make it a danger zone and provide some funds to help solve the problems, but can't scare away any tourists' dollars.
