In the peaceful province of Phang Nga, a gruesome discovery has shocked the local residents. On the morning of May 15, the lifeless body of an unidentified foreign man was found on a roadside near Ban Na Road in Takua Thung district. Following the grim discovery, Sub-District Chief Yutthanakorn Juanjenkit connected with officers from Khok Kloi Police station.

Relevant authorities from Thailand's police force and rescue services quickly arrived on the scene to gather preliminary findings. The deceased, reportedly a foreign national, was seemingly from a Middle Eastern country, though his identity remains unverified. Officers discovered distressing signs of violence: a stab wound on his back and wrist, a gunshot wound on the neck, and bleeding from the ears and nose. No identifying paperwork or documents were located on his person.

The mystery deepens as local residents claim they have never seen the man within their community before. The police, considering all possibilities, believe he may have been murdered elsewhere and his body dumped at the current location. Theories are circulating about the motive behind the brutal act, with business rivalry or robbery topping the list.

As locals are left reeling over this shocking incident, authorities are working under pressure to shed light on this tragedy. With many unknowns still lingering, the investigation into the unfortunate man's death makes the headlines across the nation and indeed, across the globe.

Foreigner with stab and gunshot wounds identified as Indian man

The identity of a foreign man found dead along Ban Na Road in Phang Nga, Thailand, was confirmed yesterday as a 53-year-old Indian national.

The man sustained both a stab wound and a gunshot wound, raising concerns among locals initially suspecting he was a Bangladeshi cloth vendor. However, police questioning disproved this as no one from the group recognized him.

Further police investigation revealed that the deceased had overstayed his tourist visa by more than five years. He was known to have lived in the Thai Mueang district since 2016, where he sold clothes door-to-door on a motorbike.

Autsama Sareerat, a community leader, described the man as well-mannered and solely focused on selling clothes. She noted his sudden disappearance in 2017 and suggested robbery as a possible motive, citing his missing diamond ring.

Authorities are now combing through security footage to identify and apprehend the perpetrator. The case remains under active investigation.

It would take a competent investigator about 3 seconds to determine if the victim had been killed at that spot or killed elsewhere and dumped there.

Looks like it's only Western looking farangs who get squealed on for overstay. This guy had a good business going as well, which must have kept him in cash for the 5 years overstay. Unfortunately, a bad ending. RIP.

Even AFTER the rest of the cops had already contaminated the crime scene.

Remember the Koh Tao murders when they showed the crime scene and even allowed civilians (and possible suspects) to saunter through it before they even knew what had actually happened. It was far to easy to "drop" some evidence (or remove some) as it seems no one was trying to control the area.

Bleeding from the ears and nose might indicated the victim had been beaten/tortured before being killed. Probably the reason for the stab wounds as well. The gunshot to the neck was probably after the victim told them (whatever).
An autopsy would determine that as well as an approximate time of death.
Lack of documentation could be from the attackers keeping it - or "someone" rifled the body before calling the cops.

With all the CCTV cameras everywhere these days, they could try to find some along the route to where the body was found then review the footage from the evening of 14 May to the morning of the 15th (when the body was found) and look for any vehicles that drove towards where the body was found - and then drove back within a few minutes (or so depending on how far between the cameras and the location of the body).

(I seem to recall something like that happening not that long ago. Police reviewing CCTV footage identified a possible suspect vehicle seen driving towards where a crime had happened and then seen driving back again. The details are fuzzy but I think that even though they could make out the make/model of vehicle, they couldn't identify the possible owner/driver or something.)

(I was going to go with the "apparent suicide" joke as well but someone beat me to it !)

Just track every phone number in the area in the previous 48 hours would probably identify the murder or murders.
