On Tuesday after queuing for four hours in Chang Wattana for my first extension of visa based on marriage , I was promptly told I was at the wrong location , contra to what my local district office had advised ......  and that I should attend Nonthaburi immigration . 

A quick google confirmed my fears that Nonthaburi had a bit of a reputation for odd and additional paperwork ... 

Anyway on Thursday 11.45 we fronted up there ..... it was almost empty ... we parked at the main door ..... we had our paperwork inspected immediately ..... 

During lunch hour we were able to get an updated statement from the bank . 

At 1.15 we were in front of the IO , who promptly told us that we should have brought 2 witnesses from our street along with us to verify we live there .... 

" Never mind " said the IO just make sure you have them there when they make a visit .

I asked about leaving the country while on" Consideration ", and the IO made allowance for my trip back to the UK in June .

it think we were out of there by 3.30 ....

 

Now , I don't yet have my extension , but my  impression is that Nonthaburi is a darn site easier to deal with than CW .....

Im just adding this as an update to some previous post that had express difficulties there ......

Here's the thing: If you had made an online appointment you wouldn't have had to wait 4 hours, they would have told you that you were at the wrong location when you showed up.

I switched from CW to Nonthaburi 2 years ago.

Much better......

Klausekunsel …. His knowledge is extraordinary… as is his ability to state the bleedin obvious …, just sayin’! 

That is an excellent suggestion about getting the Bank Update letter DURING the Immigration lunch hour as The BKK branch at Central Shopping in Chiang Rai does not open until 11 am. I tried to get away with doing it the day before when recently renewing my Marriage Visa but they made me do it again on the day  I applied; ergo waste of money and time! I shall do as you did next time!
