A head monk, known as an Abbot, has sustained injuries after he was stabbed by a man who asked for 20 Baht inside a famous temple in Thalang.

The Thalang Police were notified of the incident at 11:26 P.M. on Sunday night (May 19th) at the Phra Thong Temple (Golden Buddha Temple) or Phra Phut Temple in the Thep Krasattri sub-district.

Emergency responders and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find the injured man Phra Kru Suwan Buddha Phiban. He is the head of the monks, or Abbott, in the temple. The monk had sustained injuries from the stab wound to his chest. He was rushed to the Vachira Hospital in Phuket Town.

Yep, now we are down to the regular price for a stabbing in Thailand.

Always keep some 20 baht notes in your pocket when you go out ...

Where are the haters and victim blamers? Why was the Abbott not tucked up in bed a sleep at 11:26pm or 23:26?

It wouldn't have happened if he was sitting in a BMW.

Always.

Kudos to the author for informing us (twice!) that an abbot is a head monk.  Whoever would have known this obscure fact?  🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
