Perhaps you haven't been following the news. The convicted felon has three other serious crimes pending (Jan 6 is one of them), and between the Supreme Court and Judge Aileen Cannon, they have blocked the trials.

I followed the news enough to know about the other cases and it seems to be likely that none of them will go to court before the election in November. I don't know who, except from Trump lawyers, is responsible for the delays.

Perhaps. You may be right. But this, of all the indictments , is the most inoffensive and hardest for people to understand. There is no clear victim, no clear crime, etc.  It is also obviously the most political in nature.  So we shall see.

And . . . aren't we EXACTLY talking about politics???

Richard Nixon would have been indicted - a Grand Jury was in session - had he not been pardoned by Gerald Ford.

Plenty of other countries - France, Israel, South Africa, and South Korea - have prosecuted former leaders.

Interesting that you did not address the charges, and immediately jumped to questioning the Rule of Law, and insulting large swaths of the population.

"If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts; if you have the law on your side, pound the law; if you have neither the facts nor the law, pound the table."

Insulting large swaths of the population. OK.

You cannot argue the facts, so can only resort to a silly comment.

This should be a walk in the park for the democrats to win the election. Should be. Problem is life for most Americans was better under Trump. They're willing to put up with his bs because on the matters that concerns most Americans like immigration and crime. Even immigrants want better immigration control. Giving money away to foreign countries when our own citizens need help.

Except for the shortage of body bags.

And toilet paper.

Will this verdict change anything?

By now everyone knows that he <deleted> that porn actress while he was married.

Some time ago I would have been sure that such a fact will guarantee that nobody who calls themselves Christian would vote for such a person. I was obviously wrong, very wrong.

So now he is convicted, by a court in NY. Will anybody who supported him until now will now not support him anymore? I don't think so.

Will some people, who are not sure, will now see that the effort to convict Trump in this case is totally out of proportion?

Is he the only politician who ever did something like this? How many other politicians were convicted of a similar crime.

And why is it so difficult for many people who see more than only black or white?

IMHO Trump is a bad presidential candidate. But if he would have the better politics I wouldn't care if he <deleted> a hooker and paid her for it.

Biden is also a bad candidate. But IMHO still a lot better than Trump.

But all in all I could make lists od reasons to vote for any of them and reasons not to vote for them.

This is not black and white. It's grey, and mostly a lot of dark grey.

It's so sad that Americans are not able to find someone competent.

Anyone who supports the verdict in this farce of a case and doesnt acknowledge the fact that it will be reversed on appeal is an enemy to me and my family and my country.

I think the verdict is unlikely to be reversed on appeal, but is more likely to be annulled by the supreme court. Which is worrying.

I see you're a real Law and Order type.

If you read the indictment, now conviction, all will be clear. He engaged in fraud in service of another crime. In NY State that is a felony. A jury of his peers found the evidence compelling, so he is now a convicted felon. As for paying for the services of a lady...that did not happen. He paid to keep her quiet about services rendered. What he did with her is up to his 3rd wife to decaide if that is okay; the court was only concerned with the fraud involved in covering it up.

Do you have an opinion on whether any of us have stolen thousands of highly classified documents? Is that something anyone would do, and then lie about returning what he had no right to possess?

How about how many of us have called the SecState of Georgia and pressured him to engage in voter fraud?

How many of us fomented an insurrection by first calling our supporters to DC for 6 Jan 21, and then telling them to march to the Capitol and fight like hell?

I cannot speak for other members, but I have never done that, nor did I ever engage in a fake elector scheme to subvert the wishes of the American people.

Magnitude...

So what was the objective of Biden with all his lies and lies and lies about unreal memories of his younger age? If not to subvert the wishes of the American people?

"nor did I ever engage in a fake elector scheme to subvert the wishes of the American people. "

So facts are gibberish (that you edited out).

Got it.

I'm beginning to support the Thai govt backtracking on weed. It seems it does do damage.

why are you writing all that in reply to my comment ? that is why i find it to be gibberish. not that it is not facts. you really need to stop jumping to conclusions.

nice low brow insult as well. pathetic. typical.

A 77 year old found guilty of first offence, non-violent crimes would not be sentenced to jail in most western countries. However, this is New York in the USA. I wouldn't rule it out.
