When a person say that their home is where they stay, they mean where they stay most of the time. Not if they go on vacation. Did that help you, Bob?

In so much that the locals in Spain would tire of you as quickly as the Thai locals do. Come to think of it, that would probably happen no matter where ever you are. So in that sense at least, where ever you are the locals would make you feel like you're at home.

Plenty of cheap flights to Portugal and Spain for holidays. Depending upon where you live may have a choice of bus and/or rail transport to your nearest airport.  

The ONLY way I would go back their would be if someone took my ashes there and that would be against my will.
