A road rage incident unfolded yesterday in Phuket, when a white pickup driver allegedly brandished a gun, threatening a truck driver and his wife. Wichit Police are currently searching for the elusive suspect involved in this alarming event.

Kwannapa Patjirang and her husband were traveling northbound on Chao Fa West Road when they first noticed the erratic driving of a white Toyota Revo pickup. The pickup stood out for its lack of licence plates both at the front and the back.

As the two vehicles travelled alongside each other, the pickup's driver drew closer, signalling them to pull over while brandishing a gun. Understandably apprehensive, the couple chose to remain inside their truck, ignoring the threatening invitations.

Upon reaching an intersection, the couple decided to accelerate and continue driving to put distance between themselves and the armed individual. Their strategy worked when the pickup eventually took an underpass while they remained on the surface road, allowing them to part ways safely.

Deputy Chief Wuttichai Chanfai of the Wichit Police has confirmed the receipt of the complaint and emphasised that police are actively hunting for the pickup and its driver. Wichit Police Chief, Chatri Chukaew, has been briefed on the incident and joined the effort to locate the suspect.

The police were initially alerted to the confrontation around 2pm. Authorities are now thoroughly reviewing CCTV footage in the surrounding areas to identify and apprehend the dangerous driver.

While the couple fortunately escaped physical harm, the psychological trauma of such close encounters is considerable.

As so many of this wannabe criminals, I can see it´s another one driving without a front plate. Only that should carry a fine of 10k baht and 3 month in jail. Not and/or!

There are a lot of uneducated savages in this country, tooled up and some ready to kill over nothing at all. Of course, if the police had been doing their job the pickup would not even have been on the road with no plates. But well, you know......

And a similar story on the same day in the land of smiles:
