The point is people including Thais will be drinking alcohol over these two days yet the sale of alcohol in supermarkets, 711 etc. is prohibited all because of some Buddhist dictate. 5 3 1 1 2
Popular Post malibukid Posted July 18, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 18, 2024 i could never understand the attraction to alcohol. it can kill you, make you act stupid, ruin relationships and you feel like crap the day after. its for people who are afraid to be themselves. crutch. 2 7 3 1 4
Popular Post ikke1959 Posted July 18, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 18, 2024 Good for tourists who come and enjoy their holidays... Restricted alcohol sales hours and religious holidays no alcohol at all... Only available in Thailand as hub of tourism industry...Purpose still unknown as monks in principle are not allowed to drink alcohol but that is always... People who practice Buddhism is advised to stay away of it, but they are not forced, unless in Thailand where there is always a way out..... 3 3 1

And as someone said, surely one day of not going out isn't that big a deal! The complaint is not really about not going out for 2 days for people who live here, it’s about the impact of these decisions on the holiday plans of tourists. You plan a trip to Bangkok for 3 or 4 days built around a weekend with a few friends and then you get no pubs, clubs etc open. It’s unfortunate that Thailand doesn’t more openly advertise that sometimes fun is cancelled here and occasionally at short notice 🙂 1 2 1
