Duty Free - Arrivals
Purely by chance, despite travelling through Suvarnabhumi since it opened, I have just dsicovered there was a duty free shop aimed at arrivals. I say 'was' because according to the article I read, the authorities stated it was to close. That was in July and at that time, the actual closure date wasn't known. Anybody know if its still open? On the subject of Duty Free shops - anyone passed through Riyadh airport recently. What's the duty free like there? I'm told they don't sell alcohol? Rolling tobacco? Just discovered there's no alcohol available on the flight (Saudia) or in the lounge at Riyadh - totally dry country apparently. This is my first flight with Saudia and it will be my last - I like to have a couple of glasses of wine on the flight, it sends me off to sleep. -

Thailand goes high-tech: New E-Visa set to transform travel
Note to self - scan passport while in Laos, before returning to home in Thailand (and getting exit/entry stamps) to wait for approval - LOL! But, that still leaves an e-Visa issued on a date while one is stamped into Thailand, so could bite you later. Better to just plan a mini-vacation while you wait. -

I knew there was a chance someone who actually knows what they are talking about might turn up You are absolutely correct about the historical and political context surrounding the switch to heliocentrism. It was politically and ideologically motivated, and "science" was subverted in order to achieve that goal. That's all. The pursuit of truth had nothing to do with it I will likely get 10 laughing emojis for this post, and that is absolutely expected and normal. Heliocentrism is a belief. A very deeply rooted one, too. In fact it is one of the first things a human learns after birth. Once a world view has been modelled on a belief, it becomes extremely difficult, I would say virtually impossible even, to break free from it and accept a challenge to it, regardless of how many absurdities and contradictions are presented (shoutout to @Tippaporn for helping me understand how fundamental this issue is). There are several sources one can consult to learn about The Reformation, the Jesuits, Copernicus, paganism, sun-worshipping and the political endeavour to impose heliocentrism, however I will recommend the documentary Heliosorcery, which lays it all out clearly and factually. -

In Thailand and also elsewhere, it is always prudent to give your vehicle a thorough service especially brake fluids and pads. Engine problem is not fatal but a failing brake upon descending can be. Even a failing clutch plate can screw up your traveling plan. -

The child Jesus thinks about whether he wants to be a boy, a girl or something else. Not to mention the kings from the east, they could be illegal immigrants and have been stopped at the border. There is also no angel not to upset atheists, Muslims and other religions. Eventually the straw was removed due to fire hazard and it did not meet the European standards NF X 08-070. The hut, on the other hand, made from recycled wood from forests, which according to environmental standards have been developed, is permitted. This makes it a peaceful Christmas. -

Who lives on 20k a month ?
My reply I am not 80 but 77 so I will have the same problem with health insurance but my story is a bit different. I don't need to pay rent since I have my own place (in my wife's name) I have been married over 20 years to a Thai my cost may vary to yours. I have my own kitchen cook my own food but most will be Farang food. Saying that I only eat fruit in the morning no lunch and just a small dinner. I don't need a phone but I have Wi-Fi in my place. Don't have a car but need to pay for petrol sometimes.
