Lopburi city has caught more than 150 monkeys in the first two days of a new mission aimed at managing the city's monkey population. The aim is to catch at least 500 monkeys within 10 days, with help from 12 military staff members from the 13th Military Circle.

The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP), together with the Lopburi city administration, launched the mission after building additional cages. The mission is centered on controlling the number of monkeys in the old town area, a busy business district.

Military staff members from the 13th Military Circle are helping with various tasks at the Lopburi City Animal Care Centre in Pho Khao Ton, Mueang district, Lopburi province. The task is planned to run for 10 days, as set by the DNP and Lopburi city administration.

Four places have been selected for setting up monkey traps: behind the Chaiyawanich building, behind the Agricultural Bank building, in front of the old Public Health and Environment Department building near Manora shopping center, and at the old residence of the municipal waterworks office.

Since the mission started, over 150 monkeys have been caught at these four places, and the work continues to meet the target of catching at least 500 monkeys within 10 days.

At the Lopburi City Animal Care Centre, DNP officials and soldiers from the 13th Military Circle are working hard to divide the caught monkeys into different groups. The monkeys are then given to the DNP vet team for further steps.

"Some of the monkeys we caught include almost 10 mother monkeys with newborns that are still feeding. The DNP will look after these separately, and they will not be placed in the city monkey cages."

Relocation

Other caught monkeys are given medicine to put them to sleep for health checks, taking blood samples, sterilizing, tattooing and photographing for records before being given new ID cards. They are then kept separately for a day before being moved to the monkey cages at the Lopburi City Animal Care Centre or the close by monkey park the next day.

This new monkey-catching mission comes after additional cages were completed at the Lopburi City Animal Care Centre, which can now take in up to 500 more monkeys.

The project is part of a plan to control the population aiming to maintain a suitable number of monkeys for the area. This can help lighten the problem faced by local dwellers, students at Phibun Witthayalai School, and tourists around Phra Prang Sam Yot.

You don't Know me, So you cant say that I Hate AnimaLs .

We got 3 dogs, I Do prefer them before most people .

As for Cute ,You better check again After the Vermin Attacks your Kids /Family unprovoked and give you a good dose of Rabies.

Leave them Alone hey, So they can Breed up an Whole colony and  Terrorise the  Whole neighborhood an Wreck everything.

The Government doesn't do Anything to Fix the problem .

They may do something if some of their colleges get Mauled by the Vermin.

Does it Has to come to that ?

Given the Vermin a Physical Health  and Spay /Neuter some and put them in a shelter for a while ,then let them on the lose again  so they can start to Terrorise  Again .

They Will Still breed cause they won't get them all.

There is only One way to Fix this Problem and You Know That.

You don't have to agree with that's  but that's ok .Just look what the Cops are doing hey   Sweet ,,, Nothing.
