Please feel free to move on to wherever you want to go.   How much of Thailand do you know? How long did it take you to decide "Thailand is losing its appeal. Not much fun anymore."

Given your content, it's unsurprising that you've struggled to engage with others. I wonder how people perceive you in person, as your opinions and comments on this forum often suggest an insufferable nature many would prefer to avoid - perhaps thats just your posts and in person you are different - but the above comments highlight otherwise.

Thats not to be mean or cause argument, but as with Bob Smith and a few others who seem to suffer with being unable achieve happiness, contentment and enjoyment in life the common theme is seeking and finding fault in external factors.

I think Thailand is losing its appeal. Not much fun anymore. Vietnam might be worth a look. Once you get past the cheap shallow stuff not much to enjoy. Pretty much 90% of the farangs I see are low quality.

and the Thais are even lower quality.

Bob is one of the more interesting people on here. Most have the personality of a goldfish.

honest question, social interaction with farang is important preferably daily

It is going both ways when married, and we trying to make the best out of it for both parts, as well we both thrive working at the farm and making it sustainable.

However we are now moving and building a new base back in my orign country, giving her future pension and dual citizenship.

You warned me in an earlier thread about doing it.

I agree Thailand gets boring after awhile if nothing constructive to do here.

It's up to us if we find anything we want to do.

I live in Bangkok since almost 30 years. If I wanted to, I could drive a few km inside Bangkok and I would be in an area which I never visited before. And I am sure I would discover something in such an area.

For me above sounds like: I was 10 days in NYC, I saw it all, and it's time to go somewhere else. Really?

But it is more of the same. Gold shop, cafe selling the same stuff, restaurants etc.

Agreed... though many of the issues he encounters are self inflicted....     and this is the suggestion with your boredom in Thailand, you seem to be looking to blame external factors.

You have blamed the towns being similar, but towns and cities all over the world within each country are very samey-samey... as are the high-streets and shopping centres... some have more historical and architectural significance, but that can be said of places such as Sukhothai and Ayutthaya...

After a while, anywhere can get boring if you are the type of person who becomes bored with repeated patterns, then you have to source other stimulants.

You have not mentioned what you are looking for exactly, what sort of enjoyment or satisfaction you seek - perhaps this is because you do not know, lack inspiration or seek inspiration from external sources than from your own ideas.

Coffee shops and restaurants exist everywhere. Every country, every city, and even up country.

What do you expect? Living in a theme park and every day something completely different?

NYC is better than BKK in almost every conceivable way.

A very valid point - even very simple things...

...  How many have cycled around Bang Krachao or Koh Kret in Bangkok ?

How many have walked down Klong Ong Ang or wondered around the 'foodie streets' behind MBK ?

Where Thailand lacks in some area's, there are also plenty where it excels - as repeatedly mentioned, it is what we make of it.

I have a strong desire to move down to Rawaii / Nai Harn area of Phuket - I just like it down there, but have never lived there so I've no idea if I'd find the options limited or not... (but we can't because of my Son's schooling in Bangkok)...

But, we do a lot in Bangkok.

Perhaps this is where 'external factors' come in - with children and family many things are more interesting... more fun, they force us to be more active.  If on my own, I'd have to force myself to get out and do many of the things I currently do and this could lead to a negative spiral if I don't make an effort to remain active.

Pretty much 90% of the farangs I see are low quality.

In life I need a big family, close friends, lots of man toys, a nice house with a shed to tinker with my toys.

You'll find life in Thailand never gets boring.

I ignore and avoid the lowlife foreigners, easy to do these days, I learnt from the Russians that arrived covid, these guys won't even say hello or good morning.

The only problem I have is not enough hours in the day.

If you rely on the quality of other farangs for your entertainment you haven't really got a life. All the best interests will be there wherever you are and are mostly free.

Maybe you should talk to some of the posters that never got bored in Thailand.  Dolf, Uttradit, BigNok or Sparktrader might have some ideas of things to do while in Thailand.

And it took you all that time to realize it? sheesh.   Back in the good old days, my introduction to Thailand was arrival at  DMK and a visit to the washroom facilities. The overwhelming stench of urine  nearly knocked me out.  Then I had to run the gauntlet of touts with a red blazered man  who insisted on grabbing my bags and escorting me to a taxi and then yelling at me, tip, tip.  The taxi ride to the hotel was a journey into the unknown. Way back then, I could stay at the Bangkok Sheraton Orchid for 2000 baht.

That's a reflection on you and your social circles.  A trip to my local Lotus is a depressing event. I can't believe that  some large foreigners still shop for their clothes there. They are usually Thailand neophytes, as they do not realize that XL in Thailand is more like M in farangland.   I have not bought clothes in Thailand in many years.

By constructive I mean us my potential working, creating something, use my skills and creativity. Thailand was never a place for me to work and make money out of natural reasons.

I had 8 great years moving on to next project.
