Do the authorities ever check these reported brake failures as there does appear to be a multitude of them in Thailand or is it just a standard excuse that the police accept ....LOL

If you suffer a brake failure, you do not have to lose control at the same time. The only thing needed is to hold the clutch, take away the foot from the gas and softly use the handbrake at the same time as slowly release the foot pressure on the clutch. During that time, stay on the road, slide to the side and avoid oncoming traffic.

Typical inability to control his car. But I suppose he was busy on Line.

Even there was a brake failure it wouldn't come out of the blue.

All modern vehicles have dual circuit braking systems with each circuit activating the brake on two wheels.

Only if one circuit fails and the driver ignores the big red light on his dash would he be left with no brakes if the remaining circuit fails.

Overloading and/or lack of maintenance could affect brake performance and his ability to stop in time, but that is not brake failure but operator failure.

Who's job is it to Maintain the Truck, the Schools or the driver, like the last poor sod who was expected to pay for repairs on a very old truck that belonged to the school, out of his 10K a month wage.

Brake failure as in what... they failed completely or just couldn't stop in time before hitting the house?
