Billy Eilish's "Birds of a Feather" - is it better than anything by the Beatles?

People forget they also had inspiration and stole bits here and there to.

But as everyone knows, they are legends, immortal ones, but you missing my point, Justin Bieber will be remembered as much as the Beatles by his own generation

Bieber is not that bad, he has some classics actually,

Not a great songwriter obviously.

I believe the Biebers will disagree with you 😄

Proper music play by real musicians. Thank you.

The words are  irrelevant, how does it make you feel and Mozart says it  all without a  single utterance

That's how I felt when I heard this masterpiece by Billy Eilish.

Billie was actually born a boy, for the record. Hence the tomboy name. Not that it matters musically.

She/he looks creepy to me. It's painful to watch as a video.

And even though the lyrics might be about "loving someone until their grave", I don't get the impression this human being has the capacity to love anyone until their grave. I don't think the lyrics are from the heart. Partly because I don't think Billie Boy writes their own lyrics and the beatles did wrote most of their own lyrics.

The voice is 95 per cent autotuned? Who knows how much fakery with tech has been injected into the voice.

The voice is not as rich and unique as the voices of the Beatles.

And what else? All the musical instruments are computers. No one is actually playing a real instrument.

In some ways, this song shows the degradation of modern music.

Words are the base for poetry and in my opinion poetry and music are a perfect mach. But then music like religion and politics are topic mankind can never agree upon. And maybe that is for the good, diversity and such.

I enjoy the music and I can relax to it.

I also the big band music of the 1930s and 1940s as well as traditional jazz. I am not so keen on modern jazz from the 1960s though.

No words on this track by Acker Bilk to get in the way of the music.

My one real regret in my life is that while I enjoy good relaxing music, unfortunately I have all the musical skill of a warthog on heat , with none of the airs or graces that the animal is known for.

In my music classes at school I lasted 3 weeks starting with a violin and ending up playing the triangle, and I couldn't even get that right.

Not at all, I share the nostalgic  memory or Rick myself.

Going to the club, wearing a custard cream jacket, shiny gold brown checked trousers, fox brown shoes. What a time it was. Then the rabble with their wife beater t-shirts came along and their god awful techno crap and ruined everything.

I also love  a  lot of the pet shop boys  stuff theyve done some great stuff  varied too from forever in love "techno crap"  to  Jealously

Yes, I also thought she was just "ok", and of course politically she's as reprehensible as they come.

However, with this song, she will go down in history as a song writing genius. Even if Finneas  is really the brains, one has to admit in terms of music she is lightyears ahead of what's out there at the moment. Except for Kacey Musgraves possibly.

I'm sure you'll stay away from this new topic then...........

He's an exceptional singer and performer, but that song has terrible lyrics and the music is among the most boring he's put out.

So Elvis Presley was not a good artist then.

It's true that Birds of Feather feels "unreal", not  genuine, and more like a contrived pretense. Like much of Billiy Eilish's whole persona. However, in essence that is what all "love talk" is really pretense. When someone is really in love it feels more genuine, on account of their delusion being believed by them as well, but you can enjoy the song on the basis that most  talk of love is not genuine anyway.

it's a fair criticism though, clearly at her age she would not have loved in that way yet, it is an artistic piece after all, not a realistic one. I certainly agree the song feels somehwat unreal, not genuine.

She does write her own lyrics though, with her brother Finneas. They're both quite creative and original.

I would say her voice is certainly quite pleasant, even if it lacks the distinctiveness of Lennon, Starr and McCartney, who actually were also pretending to be Americans most of their lives. Where she really shines is in the harmonies, the belting, her singing is rather more accomplished and ambitious than Lennon and McCartney, though obviously less intense.

Clearly the percussion is produced electronically, and real instruments are always preferable, but in this song the elecronic music is produced well and fits the song perfectly. It's rather the opposite, this song shows that even with modern instrumentalisation you can still produce good music.

She does cultivate the creepy vibe a bit, but she was not born a boy, come on...

Lovely piece of music.

I do miss a human voice a bit.

The Pet Shop Boys have done some good tracks. By "techno" crap I meant real techno music like Acid House and all that vile <deleted>e.

If there's one music I hate above all it's techno, ie acid house and all that <deleted> that came in the late 80s, early 90s.

In terms of politics Billie Eilish is as deplorable as is possible, a transgender blue haired abortion extremist. Clearly her life experience is close to zero and what there is was in a Hollywood bubble, she's fantastically removed from normal life ever since birth really. One can't take her politics seriously really.

But in terms of writing music, she and  Finneas have real talent, one has to admit it.

Allright, maybe she has more experience in having millions of fans and performing on the beach as an artist.

But in almost all other areas my life experience dwarves hers considerably.

You take Billie Eilish out of her support system, she would crumble like a 3 week old unwanted Apple Strudel.

Even her concert sets are produced for her by a third party.

By contrast, you could drop me in Cagayan de Oro and in no time I'd  be  self-sufficient.

It's not even close.
