Generally i have jam on toast for breakfast, sometimes fancy something savoury and healthy, any recommendations?

Not including cheese, marmite, Vegemite, peanut butter

Tomatoes and cucumbers, no butter on the bread.

A dash of Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce on grilled toms on toast is tasty. I believe there is a Thai version of Worcestershire sauce that I am told is very similar but I don't know the name.

Both of those are OK but not good enough.

For the real gourmet experience you need to get Hendersons Relish

It is available in Thailand.

Anyone here from Sheffield will tell you that Henderson's is 100% better than L&P

A mega spoon of NUTELLA

Please read the ingredients list on Nutella. Mostly oil & fat. Minimum hazelnuts.

Now make your own in a blender with a splash of oil and salt, as you would with peanuts.

Yea... I know. It is mostly once every few months and it is on fresh bread not toast.

Oh, so the fresh bread makes the Nutella healthier, yes?

The Nutella will have passed it's Use By date if you only use every few months.

Well, if you want something healthy and savoury and you exclude Vegemite then you are not serious. Did you know that Vegemite is made from the left-over yeast  after the beer is brewed at the breweries .you couldn't get anything more healthy than that !! In Australia mothers put it on babies dummies to pacify them.

Vegemite of course

Vegemite is a thick, dark brown Australian food spread made from leftover brewers' yeast extract with various vegetable and spice additives.

Doesn´t that sound delicious! 🤣

A trace of Vegemite on toast made from a decent bread, topped with avocado, tomato, and a bit of  lemon juice and black pepper.

And this totally puts both L&P and Henderson's in the shade.....

Tinned salmon with malt vinegar.

Great sandwich. Tinned red salmon (not the pink), Sarson's malt vinegar, pepper and cucumber.

A small tin (213g) is nudging £4 now in the UK. I always take a few tins to Thailand with me along with a couple of tins of corned beef (corned beef and piccalilli sandwich).

I am from down south as well and have never heard of Lanc Sauce before.

Is it so good they keep it a secret?

I want to test your claim.

Can I get it in Thailand?

Be amazed if you can source it in Thailand, even from the online expat shops. It is hard enough to get in the UK for me. It's very much a Northern thing and is stocked in the regional supermarket chains like Booths. I order mine 3 bottles at a time (and take them back to Thailand) from:-

https://www.lancastersmokehouse.co.uk/

They do have their own website so you could email them and see if they ship overseas? (although the costs would be ridiculous compared to the £2.99 per bottle price)

https://www.lancashiresauce.co.uk/

FYI - it is very similar to L&P and Henderson's but has a mild, slightly Indian curried taste. It really is very good.

Do you know anyone in the UK who is due out to Thailand at some stage? Perhaps they could order a bottle or two and bring it out for you?
