If you waited for the first update to Sequoia you are a smart one.  If you updated to 15.0 you are a dummy.  

 

Now you get Sequoia with bug updates. 

 

If you are on Mac OS 14, make sure you update to 14.7 before you update to 15.0.1

 

 

Please explain why ?

 

I'm on macOS sonoma 14.0....  

 

Just curious, why not to go straight to 15.0.1 ?

 

And why is someone a 'dummy' if they went to 15.0 ???

I am actually smarter. I don´t use Apple products at all.

I'm not so sure the choice to use Apple or others relates to IQ... 

 

That said, I do object to being 'chained' to apples walled garden. 

 

I just didn't get to grips with Android....   but with the prices of apple, my next phone may well be a Xiaomi - but thats a few years away before I need a new phone.

 

That said - I like my Macbook... I like my Apple Watch, my Air-pods are amazing... and the iPad is awesome....   oh shyite - I'm a fan-boy....     but really, I don't care, I just prefer which is least hassle... and I use high end PC's a lot at work and IMO they are a right pain in the backside (the specialist software is not available on a Mac).

 

In fact - I want to change my next phone to an Android (probably Xiaomi's latest incarnation at the time) as I really want to get to grips with Andriod again and see whether it makes my life easier... 

 

I bought a crappy basic Samsung (for the Covid tracer Apps to run on) - when working all over and every country I'd been visiting enforced me to install track and trace apps.. and the thing was terrible, but it wasn't a fair comparison - still, it put me of 'going back'...

Your smartness or not rests on what you use. Divulge.

For those technically inclined you can test drive Apple's MacOS if you have vanilla mid-level Intel hardware.  Look for instructions on how to create a Hackintosh.  That was my introduction to the Apple universe.

 

I managed to avoid paying the Apple "tax" on hardware by getting a free iMac from a generous casino and then buying a used Mac Mini for my wife.

 

Unfortunately my iMac is now too old to "officially" run Sequoia but will probably use OCLP to run it unofficially.  Since it will be equivalent to a new install, I don't think I need to worry about first installing 14.7.

 

I could never go back to Windows.... the bundled Mac apps are so much better than MSoft's or Android's.

Not at all as that would make an ass out of you and me.

 

I however have sufficient Apple products that makes the sum significantly greater than the number of them. They do the jobs I want as well as I need and function smoothly together. I have no need to bother getting stuff to work together, that is a problem the other platforms all suffer.

 

it is certainly possible that there maybe an individual product that is better (though not much) than an apple one but the synergy of the ecosystem wins for me.

Yes, they have good and very easy connection within the ecosystem as you describe it. I just find it a bit hard to work with, as I connect to much people working online. Sometimes sharing files, will end up with that one side will need a converter to can open certain documents. Mostly the regular PC side. However, I might think different, as I know the products hold good quality and specifications, if not the whole working world was using regular PC systems. Except the ones working in the graphic industry, where still Mac is the superior standard.

I didn’t bother to mention that it is not just the hardware that does an overall much better job functioning together but also the software that works seamlessly together across both mobile and desktop hardware but is also completely free unless you want really high end functions and even then, due to scale, is not as pricey as the alternatives, for one example see Luma Fusion.

 

I do have 1 window$ program that I use occasionally but then there are emulators that solve that problem.

I use Sequoia since decades.
