I agree to a point we have more in common than you think. I use western culture because that is maybe what is needed. In the Beginning, they published the addresses and stalked these people into submission regardless of the payout, it wasn't enough the payout families through groups provided legal help to go after Civil damages. That is what is needed here groups that don't bend regardless of the family greed at times. Continue to go after one major problem these groups don't have a ton of lawyers to fight for them and pick up the cost and that is another step that needs to be taken. The system is so overloaded with corruption the case in mind is Red Bull! But it has to start somewhere the Thai way isn't working as you and I can see! -

Big bike forced off road by car on Bangkok highway - video
I'm a veteran big bike rider and a car driver. So neutral and looking at both sides. The car probably didn't see the bike, only glancing in the door mirror for a second while the bike approached in the blind spot. The bike rider seems to be in the habit of riding down the white line between lanes in slowish moving traffic. If he does that regularly - as I suspect - then he's doubly exposing himself to this sort of thing from both lanes and should expect this to happen sooner or later. Basic bike riding intelligence is that you need to keep visible and occupy a clearly visible space and presence in the traffic - which means riding in the middle of a lane and behaving as if you are a car - keeping your rightful space. Filtering carefully between lanes is fine when traffic is stopped or start/stop queuing - but riding like this down a white line is asking for an accident. In the end, when you are dead it doesn't matter who was right or wrong. He had it coming. -

Is this a scam at Phuket arrivals?
Not necessarily corruption , Immigration could use the money to employ more immigration officers . People pay 300 Baht for quick service Thais get employed . Non paying people get quicker service . Everyone's a winner , You think the 'extra money is used to employ extra immigration officers and not to fund the hole in their pocket ??? Unless its an official Policy where the funds can be traced to an official account etc - with posters etc offering the 'fast track for 300 baht' for all arrivals.... ... and of course, not eating into the 'Fast Track' lanes of business class passengers. IMO - this 300 baht fast track offer is lining the pockets of a handful of officers - thats just the way these guys work, anything to make extra money. -

Why Do You Even Drink?
We all get one body, and we each decide how we want to care for it or abuse it. Some drink to excess. Some smoke cigarettes. Some eat way too much. Some avoid any form of exercise that would keep them fit. Some smoke weed. Some get tattoos. If I have a vice, it is wine and beer. A cold beer after a hot day tastes delightful. A nice wine with a meal, especially if shared with my girlfriend or friends, is one of my great pleasures. I do not like weed, and do not like to be high, whether on drugs or booze. I'm quite fit from the gym, choosing low body fat and muscular definition over a sweet tooth. I find tattoos both a fad and unsightly, noisy even, but to each his or her own. I know 'no booze' is best, but my choice and my body means I will enjoy the pleasures of a good wine and suffer the consequences if there are any. What is life without at least one vice? Smoking weed or eating edibles purely to get a buzz is not something that appeals to me in any way. People like me drink wine and beer because we enjoy the taste. Nobody smokes weed purely because they like the flavor. So there's your answer from one poster, OP. Attached is a photo of some recently enjoyed wines. One is rather pricey, one quite modest, and two mid-priced. All are delightful. Life is too short to drink bad wine, and to the best of my knowledge, money is useless once one is in the box or the urn. Cheers! -

All the hotel apps fleecing
I stayed in a hotel just after Covid and booked it online on a booking website and they also said only 2 rooms left , book now , 8 people looking at this advertetc . When I arrived at the hotel they asked which room I wanted and that I could choose any room that I like as I was the only person staying in the hotel . -
