My experience is the medical care here is very expensive and the care sub-par.  I try to avoid any medical visits here whatsoever.   Overrated.

No you dont... As with all of your physical problems, they are in your head.

Well, his knee pain might have been real, and the treadmill and bike in his head.

Could the injections cause you to post nonsense for attention or make you generally weird?  It could be something else. You’d probably be better off with a psychologist than a GP.

I noticed one of your threads that you been wetting the bed and you asked what to do about it

Wear nappies !,what answer would you like from posters?

The great thing is you won't be here in 5 years at your age so why worry?

You keep wetting that bed GrandDad

Maybe try a brain scan?

Had that, free.

But I have a social security card.

Pay nothing for doctor and medicine at Pattaya city hospital.

You are living in a tourist area. There are bound to be many predatory businesses. I pay 200 baht for a blood test. Use your feet to find a reasonable clinic. Just at say no to pirates.

Why see a farang doctor here.

I live in the Isaan bush and the doctors at my local government hospital speak English and of course charge a fraction that you have to pay in Sin City.

Best to avoid doctors and hospitals unless very seriously ill.

Not always, sometimes symptoms should most certainly not be ignored.

You can get a quick private medical care in Europe for a lot less money than in Thailand. If UK does not have this option, they could have travelled to countries in Europe that do.

Well the UK is not in the EU any more... but there is a medical card (GHIC) UK citizens can get to allow treatment while holidaying in EU countries, but I  believe it is emergency care  and for pre-existing conditions only.

Long time no see Aussie doctor....???

$90 for short visit these days (5-10 minutes)

Get medicare refund maybe $35.

Blood test at another establishment add to that.

Betting you'd be forking out at least $250 to begin with.

Then you need another short doctor visit fee to get results.

Cheap Charlie....get insurance.

Costs me nothing, open heart surgery, nothing, colonoscopy, nothing, blood test x-ray ultra sound CT scan, nothing.

I will stick with the free blood tests in Australia!!

You wouldn't want to be sick here

I'm going !!!

Find a "lab" near you and do all blood and urine tests at low cost and they explain your result if you need it.

So you are using the Government Medicare national health system

The only problem with that vs private insurance is waiting times

who wants to be sick anywhere?

That said, i just had a follow-up appointment where we changed meds - only a few minutes with the Doctor - 300 baht... the new meds were a bit overpriced but that seems to be the system...

And on the other hand - the lights were on and bright, plenty of nurses and janitors keeping the place sparkling clean and administrative staff and guards outside and splashy machinery if you need it and... the doctor has to make a living too... right?

I have attended the emergency department at Pattaya city hospital on soi Bukahao several times and was seen promptly and treated very professionally and amazed at the low cost.

I know someone who was charged 500Bt just to even see the doctor at this hospital.

I was just quoted $25,000 Cdn funds to remove a kidney stone at a hospital in Sri Racha.  That was the minimum price.  The private health sector in Thailand is ridiculous.  Thieves, all of them in my opinion.

A hernia op in Bangkok's top private hospital cost 6000$US.

May be see another hospital for price.

Thailand is a medical tourist destination.........so for any medical reason you should return back in your home country.

In other words avoid to visit dirt medical centers for any reason and avoid medical mafia.

So, how do you get the free medical care?

Regardless if you pay tax you are entitled to free medical care under the Federal government Medicare from public hospitals

I think it's the same with the UK

Wrong as usual.  Way off base.  Your posts and replies are just bizarre and often contradictory and you seem to be in a constant state of confusion.  Maybe it is the steroids or maybe whatever causes you to go to do blood tests all the time.  What possibly went on in your head to give that ridiculous reply?  A knee jerk reaction, perhaps.  Think things through before you go into these nonsensical, baseless, ramblings.  I'm not even trying to be insulting or funny.  I wish you good health, it just seems like a mental health issue IMHO.

What's this bed wetting thing?  I don't go through people's post histories.  These forums aren't as anonymous as one might think.

Someone posted some ridiculous story about frequently wetting the bed.  I replied that it was a troll post. It was something like @georgegeorgia would post. Apparently, he looked at my AN history, but wasn’t intelligent enough to know the difference between “replied to xxx’s post” and “posted a topic”.
