Popular Post josephbloggs Posted November 1 Popular Post Posted November 1 The forum just changed! I am waiting for the deluge of people complaining about it as we know posters here fear change. I just wanted to get in first to say I like it! Much cleaner, more modern looking. Nice! 1 1 1 1

I agree, it has a more professional feel about it and the shortcuts along the bottom of screen ( on my iPhone anyway ) are a nice addition. 1 1 1
Popular Post novacova Posted November 1 Popular Post Posted November 1 Much different, I thought I was on a different site. 1 2
tgw Posted November 1 Posted November 1 I think it's less legible on a computer, and the ads stand out even more. It also looks less serious/credible. 1 1 1
Popular Post Mutt Daeng Posted November 1 Popular Post Posted November 1 (edited) There is a useful "customiser" button on the top bar where your account appears. If you click on it you can enable an option called "Fluid width" which uses nearly the whole of the display to show AN content. This is of particular use to me as I have my browser set at 67% zoom to get more content on the display. Without the feature enabled the content is scrunched up in the centre but with it enabled it uses nearly the whole width. Useful for larger displays. See the difference in the before and after images below. Edited November 1 by Mutt Daeng 3 1 1
Mutt Daeng Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) Observations (not complaints): The "Dark Mode" moon shaped button on the top bar doesn't seem to have any effect when I click on it. Neither does the Dark Mode setting inside "Customiser". Edited November 1 by Mutt Daeng 1 1

Popular Post billd766 Posted November 1 Popular Post Posted November 1 I know that this is probably a forlorn request, But is it possible to stop continuously updating the forum. It seems as though every week there are changes. As a retired engineer the advice I was given was brief and simple, If it works, then leave it alone and don't mess with it. A good example is that the forum last night is completely different to the one I opened this morning. 1 2 1
KannikaP Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) What's the difference between Topics, Latest Posts and Popular in the Pub. The same things seem to appear on all three. Or can I get ride of o couple of them. The Option to remove Notifications one they have been read would be very useful (to me anyway). Edited November 1 by KannikaP 1
Mutt Daeng Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) Previously, trying to use AN on a phone was virtually intolerable. The new look seems much better IMHO Edited November 1 by Mutt Daeng 1 1

Explanation of what has happened etc is explained in the public notice. The forum had been technically neglected for a considerable time, the new owners have invested a lot to rectify those issues and move forward with a new and improved experience for the members. 2 1 1

I'm in my 70s. One reason I ditched Microsoft products was due to their incessantly changing the freaking User Interface. No - I don't like change in the computer world. When I wake up in the morning I want things to be as they were when I went to bed. 1 1 3 1

The move to left was a technical issue as were most of the previous issues due to blatant neglect of the previous owners, we are doing our best to actually rectify and improve things going forward. 1

dddave Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Nice clean look. Easy for me to read as I use a 43" TV as a monitor. Pages seem to load more quickly. 1 1

It's seemingly a 3rd party plug-in or something like that and no-one ever remembers these need re-installed or updated too. 1
Bangkokhatter Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Looks much better and fills the screen far more than before. Just waiting for the up arrow to come back and my week will be complete. 1 1
John Drake Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Dark Mode is okay. It's a shock however to be scrolling along in dark mode and then have quoted text shine out in white. Like the option. Much better than having no dark mode at all. 1

Keeps Posted November 1 Posted November 1 I prefer the new look on my phone but not on my laptop. Also, the 'go to page ' function is not working on my phone. I'm having to do next, next etc. Probably my phone though. Overall though, I think it's an improvement. 1
ukrules Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Looks OK to me, I see the links to different topics have also moved back from the left of the page to the right of the page.
Liverpool Lou Posted November 1 Posted November 1 What are the details and benefits of the subscription offer? Where is it?

The new look seems much better IMHO Actually on my phone it was much better with the old look. Now the headline fonts are so big that I have to scroll down much more to see the content. Personally I also liked the order of the old digitally: featured, local news, international new. A great addition would be to clearly mark those infomercials.
