Hi I recently transferred a motorbike into my name and got the por ror bor sticker. Unfortunately I already lost it. I attached it to my license plate in a round plastic holder which seems to have disappeared. It might have gotten stuck somewhere behind another motorbike when trying to get out of a tight parking spot.

It's hard to find info online but from what I've found so far ... is it true I need to go to the police station to report it and then go to the transport office to get a new one? Or is there an easier way?

I heard the same, but let's hear from others with first hand experience...

For future reference I always make a color copy of the original and stick that copy on the bike, the original stays in my pocket, a bit safer that way...

I lost mine somewhere on a rutted road in Buriram.  Still haven't replaced it. My insurance is up soon and I'll get a better holder this time.

Actually got stopped by the police today and they noticed the por ror bor was gone ... I managed to show them the receipt from a few weeks ago when I got the por ror bor on my phone and they accepted it and told me to go.

I keep the Por-Ror- Bor, and the insurance, under my bike seat, stuck to the underside of the seat, have done for some years now.

I know it should be on display where it can be seen, so far, no problem.

The sticker is supposed to be shown in a place where it can be seen easily.

Unfortunately, there are Thais especially in Bkk and Pattaya that steal these from bikes and use on their own bikes so they do not need to get one of their own.

To get it replaced you will surely need to go file a police report and show that to the office when applying for a replacement.

It is doubtful, although not impossible that yours fell off. Most likely it was stolen.

Your registration/tax sticker must be displayed on the bike.

If you are worried about theft get it colour copied and place in cylinder, keep original under seat.

FYI,Legit copy shops will NOT print or make a color copy of the Tax Sticker, even with green book and ID.  Said problems and fine from Police.

Lost mine and also told to report to Police Station and file report it is Stolen.  Then the long ride to DLT in Pattaya

Lost mine a couple of years ago. No need to report it to the police. You fill a report out at the DLT explaining when and where it was lost. I took the receipt for the sticker with me, can't remember if that was necessary. Charged about 20 baht I think.

Take a copy of the payment page in the registration book until next renewal.

Do you think it would be possible to renew it without having an actual por ror bor? I think that would still require a trip to the transport office.

So anyway: today I called the transport office and they told me to just come in with my passport and the greenbook and a copy of my passport and visa stamp. The guy at the information desk filled in all the forms for me which I signed. Then I had to wait for about 10 minutes and they issues me a new por lor bor for 25 baht.

So no need, it seems, to go to the police.

This is interesting and makes sense that they don't make a colour copy, but I have done this the last 5 years at Phuket DLT office, once I get my new tax sticker I come out and on the left, opposite parking lot, there's a copy guy and he always does it for me...!

You detail a situation that is not common or available to many.

Just paid 20 baht for the Police Report and going to DLT soon for the replacement

Are you talking about not having to file a police report? Why do you say that? I literally called the transport office hotline on 1584 and asked them; they told me to just come into the office.
