In a very short time, Starmer has established a huge catalogue of errors; none more erroneous than appointing David Lammy as Foreign Secretary. Lammy is vehemently anti-American, anti-British, and antisemitic; he is the worst kind of racist, because he thinks that only white people can be racist.

One of his first moves was to approve funding again for the Hamas affiliated ‘Agency’ UNRWA; then he cancelled export licences to Israel, all to appease the muslim block vote in the UK; Israel, who after America, are the UK’s most important source of antiterrorism intelligence. He has berated, insulted, and derided the President of the USA, he is an absolute disaster, and a disgusting, disingenuous human being. What in god’s name has happened to my country ?

Absolutely he's a total <deleted>!

Starmer rolled the dice and lost spectacularly.

"Do not underestimate the damage Starmer has done to relations with the US - the Trump team are ready and waiting to unleash all-out war on him, because he is perceived as anti-American and a whingeing, liberal bore"

He should bend the knee to Farage and beg him for help, remove anyone and everyone (which is most of the front bench and London mayor) who has been involved in libellous hyperbole on social media about Trump, and following that resign after calling for a new election to allow the British people to correct the mistake that was made now they have the knowledge of what a disaster it is having these clowns in government.

Lammy has some serious sucking up to do.......lol

I expect that you , like me do not believe he is up to it.  In a situation like this, it will probably require a special envoy, or point person, side stepping the Foreign Secretary, who is more comfortable uttering platitudes to Islamic lobbyists. Unfortunately, aside from Nigel Farage, I don't think there is anyone in the UK that Trump has any use for.

If Farage goes to the USA and gets a  rousing hug of hospitality, that will be a big, and blatant message to the UK. The UK is not in a position to alienate  the USA as it doesn't have any helpful friends in Europe (aside from Poland, the Netherlands and Denmark). The EU is still pursuing a petty vendetta against the UK  for its  withdrawal from the EU.

Maybe the UK will reverse course on its self destructive hostile  approach to Canada. The UK had been trying to bully Canada in the negotiations of a free trade agreement. It had demanded easy access to Canadian markets but refused to reduce market access barriers for Canada’s agriculture industry. The UK  walked away from the trade talks in January 2024 assuming Canada would cave. it did not. If  Trump imposes his tariffs, the UK is going to regret not having a trade deal with Canada. This trade negotiation fiasco highlights the culture of arrogance that permeates the Foreign Affairs and the Foreign Trade Offices. A tough time with the Trump administration might be the enema the British  civil servants  require to reduce their bloated sense of self importance.

Lammy is a racist.

Yes he is.

He is also incredibly stupid. He stated on MasterMind that Henry VII succeeded Henry VIII and that Red Leicester is a blue cheese.

He is also a liar, claiming he was raised in a family dependant on tax credits, even though they were not introduced until he was 31.

He is an embarrassment to the country and needs to resign if Labour want any semblance of credibility.

The British people made their choice in July.  We have 5-year terms, so there will almost certainly be a new US president by the time of the next UK election.  President Newsom, hopefully.

Remember that Labour were elected because of the UK’s bizarre FPTP electoral system; however, only approximately 20% of those on the electoral register actually voted for them. They do not have a mandate for the radical socialist changes they are implementing, and might need to call a general election well before their term of government is up.

He's not married to Diane Abbot by any chance?

You mean the FPTP system that the Tories campaigned, and voted, against changing whilst they were in power?

He's going to be a major challenge for all governments, especially the US government. I'm sure he'll be nice and cozy with Putin and Kim...the "dick-tators" he worships and aspires to be. Well he's certainly always had that first syllable spot on. 🤣

Yes, I vote Liberal Democrat and favour proportional representation.  But Labour aren't going to change it now!

So you voted for Ed Davey, who as Postal Minister in 2010 refused to meet Post Office Campaigner Alan Bates, and oversaw one of the greatest injustices in British history; a man that cannot even define what a woman is …. Wow
