Ludacris???  there are conspiracy theories about "ludacris"?  is this some new vaccine against Luddite Christianity

Not the first time I've misspelled ludicrous.

Fortunately, a small, minded spelling nazi is on the job. A different version of a title I'm sure you've worn before.

Thing is, old Croc, if as you say you have misspelled "ludicrous" on numerous occasions, why the fk are you continuing to demonstrate this particular mental weakness?

However, the misspelling of "ludicrous" as "ludicras" does at least present a moment of mirth, all too rare on this thread.

Nothing wrong in what the PM said.

Defence is committed to Australia’s emissions targets of a 43 per cent reduction in emissions by 2030 and net zero by 2050, reinforcing the country’s commitment to the Paris Agreement and global climate leadership.

It is a TARGET, not a demand. The underlying  reasoning is rational and responsible.

Climate change is a national security issue that will increase challenges for Australia, Defence and our region. The challenges arising from climate change are recognised in the National Defence Strategy and Defence is taking action. Action on climate change is part of the Defence mission to defend Australia and its national interests. Effective action will advance Australia’s security and prosperity. The Australian Defence Force will work to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and to mitigate the impacts of climate change. Defence will take a sensible and practical approach to adopting renewable energy for use in its deployable capabilities.

Nothing wrong in being  energy independent.

The average share of renewables in Australia’s main grid is around 40 per cent.

In Western Australia, which is an isolated grid not connected to another state, the peak share of wind and solar was 84 per cent. And in South Australia, when the state was electrically isolated from the rest of the grid, the peak share of wind and solar was 91.5 per cent, which shows that energy independence is viable.

It is unlikely Australia will ever be independent of gas fired or coal fired electricity generation, but it can certainly reduce the  dependence upon these polluters especially  the dirty coal.

I'm not going to argue with you as it would be a wasted effort.

I will say that the current Aust government is going the same way as the Dems in the US.

Out the door.

Perhaps you need a lesson in reading and comprehension. Where did you find the term "numerous occasions" in my post?

If indeed your initial attack on my spelling was meant to be humorous and not just a poor MAGA attempt to avoid the actual theme of the post, I apologize for not recognizing it as such. Actual humor is not common, nor well executed, in this particular forum.

Your initial intentions were to insult, but you have accidently come to a correct conclusion here. The Australian Labour party are floundering in a sea of PC. Always made more difficult by the fringe parties, with whom they are forced into coalitions, with their often-impractical ideas and policies.

The Australian conservatives are closely following the MAGA playbook in the hope that their base is just as gullible as the Americans.

It may well happen.

It would be naive to believe that Trump is able to deliver on the promises that made him popular. His grassroots voters and the leaders of rival countries who expect, perhaps, to benefit from his election are doomed to painful rebuttals. As in his first four years, Trump is not going to benefit the working class but his own, upper bourgeois class - already the richest man in the world, Elon Musk, is preparing to take a government post at the behest of Trump with the task of drastically cutting government spending, which will affect social infrastructure and services. In Ukraine, there will be no pacification, but a truce at the very best, that will leave unresolved all the fundamental problems with Russia and will produce the next crises.  Trump may turn out to be even more dangerous than Biden vis-a-vis China and even more committed to Benjamin Netanyahu's Israel, at the expense of the Palestinians and Iran - already the latest speculation about an Iranian assassination attempt does not bode well.

Trump's victory provided the undisputed leader sought by the world's nationalists, the rising forces of the Far Right on an international scale and especially in Europe. We will see the consequences soon.

Which promises do you think Trump made that you think he will be unable to deliver on?

We all know Democrats will do all they can to stop Trump from doing what the American people want, but I think Trump learned a bit in his first term, and the legacy media, the propaganda wing of the Democrat party, already shot their wad and no longer carry the sway they did. Everyone paying attention knows they are liars.

What Donald Trump’s Win Means For Inflation

November 11, 2024 3:08 PM EST  Donald Trump may have won the presidency partly because voters were fed up with inflation. But if he enacts many of the policies he proposed on the campaign trail, voters may see prices continue to rise, according to economists, analysts, and business owners.

“There’s a lot of inflationary pressure in his promises,” says Simon Johnson, one of the 2024 winners of the Nobel Prize in Economics and a professor at MIT’s Sloan School of Business.

Put together, economists say his proposals could drive up the costs of apparel, toys, appliances, and food.

Not trying to insult anybody but if you research enough you may come to a sensible conclusion on your own.

MSM is there to scramble logic.

Take a look at sessions of parlement and Senatorial inquiry's.

Have a look for them and view with an open mind.

I'm not here to change anyone's mind, just expressing my perspective.

What is extremely low? The current inventory is 388.8 MMbl and the trend since April 2023 has been a steady increase in the inventory. The historic high inventories occurred in a time when the USA did not have alternative energy sources such as wind or solar and was more dependent upon imports and inefficient power generation plants. The USA today has a more diverse energy supply.  70% of the US oil production now comes from  its Shale fields. 15 years ago Shale oil was  still a dream. The need for a large Strategic Oil Reserve is not as pressing as it was 20 years ago.

As per the International Energy Agency requirement  there is a  90 days of import protection (both public and private stocks) and the USA  exceeds this amount. The USA currently has a reserve that exceeds a 2 year demand.

Utter bs. Biden let the SPR go down to less than half capacity. The need for the SPR is not determined by you.

Oh dear, you are inviting me to become the nit-picking Nazi that we all have within us (especially on this forum), but never one to resist a challenge, may I, with your permission, point out that if that was not the first time you misspelled "ludicrous", you must, logically, have misspelled it on at least 2 occasions, n'est-ce pas?

As far as I am concerned, more than once comes under the rubric of "numerous."

Sorry if it's confusing....

I don’t know much about much, however, the demonstration Harris and her team showed concerning financial stewardship makes me scratch my bald head.

In 106 days the woman raised $1 billion USD for her campaign and found herself not only a loser but a loser in debt by 20 million USD.

Sounds like the lifestyle financial planning of some Thai girls I know.

Trump's presidency will affect me because virtually EVERYTHING he stands for is against my values. But more disappointing than that is knowing that over half of the voting public in my home country was either so dumb they were conned by his lies or, worse yet, actually have the same agenda he does. I am deeply saddened right now.

Why so childish on the right? Why is someone who doesn't like Trump a "communist"? It's really pathetic.

It's possible to not respect lying, misogynistic, egotistical, mentally unstable, borderline racist wannabe dictators and also not support communism you know.

People in my area of the USA are reacting with smiles and a little more pep in their step. If you ask how it's going it is all smiles. The feeling is like a cloud has lifter or the plague is over. It is a decidedly optimistic feeling in the air.

Well, I'm happy I'm not Amarican, or a proud Maga who thinks all problems is solved, and world peace will come.

I never said that anyone that doesn't like Trump a communist. What's really pathetic is that you resort to lying and name calling.

I was responding to a specific poster, WDSmart, and WDSmart is a proud, admitted communist. They are anticapitalism and they do not believe in private property, and they think the government should own everything.

I think WDSmart is the only poster here I have ever called a communist

So, being a "socialist" (as you so often claim here) does not include accepting the results of a democratic plebiscite????

I can't be bothered back tracking through your conversation with someone else but if indeed he has admitted he is a communist and that is why you were referring to his communist values then I got it wrong and apologise.

Well it make sound economic sense. The price of oil has been tanking so they can fill the SPR cheaply.
