Trump hired Musk to make the US government more efficient.

I would have though everybody should be delighted by such a move. Or is there anybody out there who does not think the US and many other governments waste too much money?

If the DEMs would have created such a department, I guess many DEM voters would be delighted. But now, it seems many DEMs and the DEM media don't like this at all.

Why is it so difficult to agree that a good idea is a good idea, even if the others came up with this idea?

One can argue if Musk has some conflicts of interests. But that doesn't change the fact that it would be great to save lots of tax-payers money.

The above is just one example. It seems to apply to many supporters of many political parties all over the world.

The vocal majority are binary ideologues.

In the case of Trump:

One side - Anything Trump does and anything associated with Trump is 100% bad, and if you hate Trump you're good.
The other side - Everything Trump does is good any anything associated with Trump is good, and anyone who criticizes Trump is bad.
It actually boils down to, everything you like is good and everything you don't like is bad.  Binary ideologues simply can't see past one side of an issue.  This is why the term, disinformation, is embraced.  Anything that doesn't agree with how you see things is "disinformation and should be censored.

In my own humble opinion, binary ideologues are a danger to humanity as a whole.

I think it's a natural thing.  What has happened to Western people, particularly English speaking ones, is that we've had things like national/racial/ethnic pride kind of stripped away from us.  Wokeism, progressivism, or whatever you want to call it, has kind of stripped away our sense of group identity, and the only place it remains is in political allegiances.

In the past, we would have probably been a lot like the Thais, looking after our fellow countrymen first, being wary of foreigners, feeling no shame about giving preferential treatment to our own kind, and so on.  Now that is all highly taboo.

And look who Trump wants to put in as the Head of Health  that wacky Kennedy who 10 years ago or more saw a dead bear cub put it in the back of his van then drove around and forgot about it then realized he still had it and dumped it in New York Central Park and he said that he forget things cause he had a brain worm and this is a guy who is against any type of vaccination what a whack job

Please tell me again why it is a good idea to vote for a narcistic serial liar convicted criminal?

If you like the GOP politics, why not vote for someone who is not a convicted criminal?

It is stupid to vote for a criminal serial liar to lead a country. That is obvious to most of us.

The people that support him, generally believe the charges against him are made up, and while he is bullsh*tter, and he exaggerates, he does not lie about things of importance. And everyone that is honest, that speaks Englis, and that is paying attention knows the left lies about him incessantly, and they never get called out.

What do you see is the most egregious lie Trump has told?

Last I read, he wants to ban chemicals in US foods that are already banned in the EU.

I never met anyone who wants more chemicals in their food.

I stopped being partisan when i realized my vote literally doesn't count - and not just because I live in Thailand. Yes, I know I can register to vote using my old home address, but I don't even bother to register. I'm sick of people personally hating me and arguing that I MUST vote, and why every vote counts blah blah blah. No, actually, that is not true. Explain to me how one more vote (D or R doesn't matter) cast in West Hollywood California is going to change anything - ANYTHING. It won't. Millions of people still living in America sat out the election for the exact same reason. If I had lived in a swing state, that's another story. If they get rid of the EC and made it a straight up vote, I'll be thrilled to vote for the first time ever, but until then, nope.

Plus, I have no skin in the game. I escaped the USA when I was 18, have never paid US taxes, have never voted, I don't collect govt benefits, and my US passport expired ages ago. My closest relatives are either dead, nearly dead, or escaped just like I did, long ago. Now that weed is legal here, I have absolutely no reason to return to the US. It's heartbreaking what America is about to go through (and put the entire world through), but their political system is thoroughly corrupt and utterly broken. The only solution would be a revolution and a new constitution (that's of course assuming the good guys win the revolution). But I'm betting on aliens appearing and putting us all to work as their slaves long before America can fix itself.

Again, if Biden's cabinet 100% Israel first, the conflict would have been over by now, and Biden would never have removed the sanctions on Iran.

I never accused you of claiming 100% of Biden's cabinet was Jewish.

My mistake - Bidens cabinet was just under 70% jewish

Exactly.  4x2 Ish media pushing white guilt and gimmigration

In group preference (aka racism) is NORMAL - it's why chimps don't hang around with orangutans etc in natural settings but whites are expected to ignore all that and bend over for everyone else so we can 'virtue signal' 🙄

I believe Biden put a $35 cap on insulin for seniors. It was just an example of the type of things that might follow a gutting of the US public sector. The point being that the consequences, none of which we know yet, will probably hit the poor harder. And Trump’s base support tend to be poorer.

Who really understands Elon Musk.

Who was ever in the situation to be the richest man on earth and know how that feels?

I have some ideas about that guy. But do I understand him? No. And I am pretty sure I am not alone.

I think Musk dreams of a world controlled by rich/smart guys like himself. I think his natural instincts are authoritarian. He makes a big play about free speech but not when the criticism is directed at him. He grew up in Apartheid South Africa, and I think that system suits him fine.

While I agree with your sentiments I am alarmed that Musk has so much power, he is already the worlds richest man and consequently has huge seductive power upon government and industry and this power is now elevated with a government position and direct access to a president that doesn't seem to have any moral values. "Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely." Musk and Trump are basically untouchable and all powerful, what does that do to two already damage psyches? Government waste is a world wide problem but some seemingly redundant departments are 'pesky' counterweights against an all to powerful administration, it is now easy to remove them.

Well, from your comments, you obviously have your bias built in already. I think that because Musk is so much in the spotlight he will be under extreme scrutiny from foes and friends alike and he will need to behave himself - at least being so rich there's a good chance he won't be corrupt. Any complaints about Musk will also directly apply affect Trump.

Most governments are way too top heavy and therefore expensive so something needs to change.

You really have fallen down that rabbit hole. So anyone who thinks Trump is a criminal or that Musk is authoritarian is a leftist? That’s a tired old trope propagated by MAGA morons.

Has it ever crossed your mind that people on the political right don’t care for them either?

I am not as far to the right as people here might think. What happens is you say something that is just a fact or a matter of strategy such as "Trump was smart to have a rally on a day that it didn't rain'"

Then people simply starting ranting at you with vitriol and venom. I can also say something jokingly about people being racist and the other half rant almost the same way. I am beginning to think people don't observe or care who posts what. Like they don't care about the user name and consider the posting history and adjust from there.

So for the most part I am not very subtle. I am more to the right here because I dislike the lefty posters  more than the rest. They really are a nasty unhinged bunch of ideological poo. Truly the ugliest face of humanity. Another forum i post on is more right wing and the same thing there I am to the left.

It's like prison where you have to choose a gang.

Problem with the BIG government is the normal operating procedure  of the Democrats.  Each dem pres widens increases the size of he government plus they tend to give away too much money to non producers.  Historiically and that is why Project 2025 births began 50 years ago as the Republicans tried to reestablish conservatism as written in the US Constitution.   Unfortunately, insead of a patriot in charge, we will have a narcissistic leader who will want to control everything without really understanding what is going on.  MO anyway.

Neither Bush nor Obama predicated their campaign on racism. This is the single reason the world is now more polarized.

Letting big pharma control the cost of medicines, while letting big food industry replace natural foods with chemicals and charging a lot more plus making everyone sick, thereby making big pharma and hospitals thrive using the Thai logic - when overwhelmed with sick folks, charge even more and never cut the prices.  MO.

The purpose of the proposed Project 2025 (originally started about 50 years ago) is to cut down the waste in govt including cuts in manpower, redundant agencies, too many unnecessary benefits for non-producers and being able to actually fire poor producers at work.  We shall see - as it returns power guaranteed to the President and he will be supported by the Republican Congress and courts.

But if people who have no real knowledge of what their particular agency is responsible for then chaos might reign.  Might be interesting, might be scary if haters of Ameican democracy decide to attack in some manner.

If you are right of center you have to be partisan because the Left will never leave you [a normal person] alone. No compromise is possible.

It makes me think of the allegedly Native American "a fine day to die" where you have tried everything to reach an agreement or compromise, you have yielded what you would prefer not to have yielded in the hope of achieving this but the demands just keep coming, so you are left with no alternative. You can defend your land or lose it.

Amen to that.  Food industry started in the 1920's using emulsafiers in seed oil for machinery, there by creating CRSCO LARD!  It took over 20 years for the govt drug control to ban trans fats even though they knew it was bad.  Then in the '80's, the food industry introduced a lot of fake colors and flavors to replace natual nutrients.  They also allowed poisons to be sprayed on fruits and veggies so they could keep them on the shelves long after they would have been rotten.  This past week end I read that 22 of these sprays have been proven now in labs to cause prostate cancer!   But no one is suggesting that they abandon the sprays though some other countries decided that years ago. 50% of Americans are overweight with 42% suffering from Diabetes and read yesterday that the way the trend is going, by the year 2050 there will be 800Million diabetics in the world.  My opinion is that diet is the biggest killer of mankind.
