no, it can only be a good thing for any normal minded person, but i think because it's him, and also under Trump administration, he will find obstacles, hurdles and negative media in his way. this forum and comments on RFK already shows signs of that mentality.

I didn't like Trump before the election.

But now it seems some things they are doing is positive.

But most people refuse to admit they are wrong and are fixed in their ways. So even if Trump does sth good, they will never admit it.

They cannot look at anything objectively anymore.

I am sure I am not 100% neutral, it's impossible to be.

But I can assure you that I see good and bad politics and good and bad actions on both sides of the US politics.

And similar for the politics in other countries.

Personally, I am against that narcistic serial liar Trump. How can anybody trust that guy?

I am not against the GOP. But then, I have difficulties with those spineless politicians who all said Trump is bad in 2016, and then over the years they pretend he is the smartest guy alive. He's not!

You're not the problem.  It's the unhinged segment of the left that repelled voters.  Democrats need to address their internal issues which I think they will over the next year.  Sometimes the worst outcome is a blessing!

I hope they do that. But somehow, I don't have much hope.

It's so much easier to blame those bad racists and misogynists and all that.

No Democrats do not need to do anything but double-down on pushing their hard-left ideology.

Any thought of moderating need to be crushed!

This is a bad thing?  That is the problem with some democrats. Individuals should be held accountable for their actions.  99% of obese people should not be supported financially with tax dollars for hospital visits or insulin.  They should pay for their choices with their own money in higher insurance premiums or cash out of pocket.

Why is this so hard for some to understand.

I am one who understands very well that these individuals are a burden on our healthcare system and should be given an alternative to cleanup their act or else start paying for their

Agree.  If they refuse detox and rehab cut them off.

And should all those people with chronic disease make the pharma companies rich?

I understand that you argue people should pay themselves. But should they pay what the actual medicine cost? Or 10 times more?

"According to a recent RAND Corporation study, the gross price of insulin in the U.S. is more than nine times higher than in 33 high-income comparison nations."

First, the Biden insulin price cap has not yet kicked in, so no one is paying less than they did. Big pharma supported Harris in the election.

Virtually no one is paying hundreds of dollars a day for insulin. People that are uninsured are subsidized by the government.

Putting a limit on what a company can charge for something may work in the short run, but it stifles competition.

Making developing competitive drugs cheaper and easier will drive prices down, while it promotes innovation.

If the government pit a limit on what one can charge for a mobile phone, how do you see that ending?

Agreed - something is broken.  Not allowing advertisements targeting the general public might help a little.  I wonder how much money is spent on promoting the drugs vs most nations that don't allow it.  My second job out of university was at a pharmaceutical marketing company and was always amazed with the seemingly infinite money they could spend on marketing.

It would be curious if anyone had breakdown of revenue for the drug companies ( profit and expenses ).  I guess I could dive into drug company annual reports but that would be tedious 🙂

Then why are people all over the world be able to buy insulin and many other drugs so much cheaper?

A hint: It's not the cost of the production; it's the profit margins of the companies.

How much higher are the profit margins?  I would guess about 5%.  Where is the other 995% going that accounts for the 10x costs?

That is a very strange guess. Try again!

I actually did some research after making the post and it is close.  Profit margins for the 25 largest US Pharm companies is roughly 16%.  In the UK about 12 % and Germany around 8%.  IMO, profit margins aren't the issue.  It is the expenses that are the main issue.  Too many players taking cuts of the revenue and each party taking their own cut.

Hey, I might be wrong.  If i am I apologize but that is how I interpreted the data.  Maybe you are referring to gross profit margin?

Partisan people?  I chalk it up to the fact that what used to be the Democratic Party turned into a bunch of extreme left wing idiots.  They pushed a little too far. They pushed their extreme agenda in everyone's face and people woke up. They didn't have much choice. Other people were trying to take away their rights. Their right to free speech, their right to bear arms, their 4th Amendment rights, etc. And part of the left wing agenda was to stir the pot. Stir up trouble. Divide and conquer. Keep people conflicted and fighting each other while their country was being stolen by unelected globalists. And it worked, to a point.  But the peeole finally saw through the propaganda.  The left could no longer control the narrative. The legacy media was dying and the truth trickled out.  Thank Elon Musk if you ever get the chance.

The same thing is beginning to happen around the world. Europe. Japan. Australia, China.  Slowly, people wake up and that's the end of the globalist agenda..

Usually Onemorefarang's posts are legit.  I assume he is referring to gross profit margin but even so that would account for a tiny part of  the 7-10x cost Americans pay vs the EU.

As the left always points out, the proletariat are just too stupid.

They are not smart to understand how millions of illegals being dumped in their communities, that drive down wages, drive up housing costs, and put significant, disproportionate pressure on schools, hospitals and public servicers is actually good a thing.

And not only are they stupid, but they are bigots. As it turns out, they do not like men strutting around in their daughters' showers.

They do not understand that it is truly fair for men to compete in women's sports, and for male rapists that claim they are women to be locked in the same cell with a biological woman, or why they should pay taxes to provide a violent criminal to have a sex-change operation.

You try to explain to them how much worse protestors rioting for a few hours in the Capitol, is much, much worse than months or rioting, burning and looting, and they just don’t get it.

Neither do these fools understand how a 78-year-old man, that was a popular celebrity playboy for thirty years, that is a world famous successful real estate developer, and that was the star of a long running, popular (albeit lame) TV show, and was a successful President,  is all the sudden on the FBI's most wanted list for crimes no can explain, and no one else has ever been charged with, much less convicted of. Things like this confuse them.

Again, these people are stupid. Only high IQ leftists, with years of university education and multiple advanced degrees are smart enough to understand these things, and if all these dummies would just vote for them, we would have a Marxist utopia.

I asked AI:

https://www.perplexity.ai/search/why-is-medication-a-lot-more-e-FGUn.GNjSOSFF0B.N6Fhag#0

I use this AI because it shows all the sources where the information come from. They are listed in above link.

"In summary, the combination of unregulated pricing, a fragmented healthcare system, profit-driven motives of pharmaceutical companies, the influence of PBMs, and strategic legal maneuvers all contribute to the significantly higher costs of medications in the United States compared to other countries."

100% agree Mr AI.  I only wonder what is the "main" reason for the 7-10x price difference compared to some European countries.

The profits aren't the issue IMO.  Corporate greed is an easy target but if Big Pharma was breaking even in the USA the prices would still be many multiples higher than many countries in Europe.

I've always supported big pharma, they saved my life at least twice.

Remember, historically it has always been the left that was skeptical of big pharma, and the military industirial machine, but now that the left has taken them over, they're pure as the driven snow.
