Who's Gonna Win The Tyson Fight?

RSD1

Recommended Posts

Who would you rather be punched by, 58 year old Mike Tyson or 28 year old Jake Paul? Whoever you choose will be the loser in tonight's fight.

Also, how many times can Paul be hit by Tyson without going down. Only once if it's an uppercut?

No matter what happens, each of them is guaranteed at least $10 million, and possibly much more. So, there really are no losers here.

Is Tyson going to knock him out in the first minute?

Who do you think will win and why?

I dont believe any of the hype that its a staged fight with a staged outcome

Quite simply if Tyson catches him in the 1st round then its quite simply lights out

Jake Paul is a bit of an unappealing character, and I like Tyson, so I hope Tyson wins.

But Paul apparently has some punching power in his right.

We will have to wait and see.

My biggest hope is that Tyson doesn't get hurt in any lasting way.

I would love it to be Tyson, but at the last outing against Roy Jones, he looked slow, and a shadow of his former self. His speed has gone, but not his power. Years of smoking weed must have also taken their toll.

I would love to see him teach the young loudmouth a lesson though.

have you seen the videos of his training regimen for this fight. Tyson looks fitter, stronger and faster than he has in a very long time. I'm not saying that makes him a certain winner, but I'd love to see him knock Jake Paul out cold.

He gives an interesting perspective.  A lot of people, and not just sports people, like the idea of leaving a legacy, but, sure, it is basically ego.  It's about, at that time, knowing that you achieved a certain amount in your life, enough to leave a "legacy".

I saw another clip where Tyson was looking at some old title belts, and the reporter says there like his life story (or something like that).  Tyson said they garbage, that they mean nothing, and that what he cares about are his kids and making them happy.

I think you could probably say that Tyson does want to leave a "legacy", but that is through his children, rather than through any sporting achievements.  Which I think is totally valid.

Tyson's punching power against fellow professionals was legendary. IMO he still has that, if not his former speed and stamina.

Most heavyweights can break a rib with a single punch, that is how hard they hit.

Jake Paul is not a professional boxer. He's probably never taken a punch from a pro like Tyson. IMO his best shot is to keep running around the ring until he tires Tyson out.

If he tries to mix it with Tyson early, it will be a short fight.

The good think their weight is almost the same, and Tyson have maybe 80% of his punching power since his prime, but he is slower, do not have the same instincts, guts or  or stamina anymore. Of course the killer Tyson used to be, is long gone. Paul is young, fresh, and have everything to gain, or he thinks so, but he will lose everything either way. There will be no respect for him, so my best guess, this will be a draw. Agreed draw, and they go 70% max.

Pretty much how Tyson performed against Roy Jones 4 years ago. Hard to tell the difference between Tysen then and now, but I had a long camp and been training with the best coaches, physiotherapists, and dòctors.

We will know more tomorow morning.

Only Tyson can win, Paul lose either way, there is no win for Paul, just loss of credibility and honor taking on a 58 year old man, even his name is Mike Tyson.

Yes, it's been said that if Paul beats a 58 year old that it looks like he beat up an old man. And if Paul loses to a 58 year old then he lost to an old man. So either way he loses.

Tyson is only doing it for one reason; the money.

Yes, agreed, it's really only about the money for Tyson. Paul is trying to prove something though.

I think the jury is still out though whether or not it's all staged and scripted. Certainly all the hype leading up to it has been filled with lots of theatrics, especially with Netflix having made a three part series about the lead up to the fight called "Countdown" (see link below).

I think that's why so many people are so interested in the fight. Probably 85% to 90% of the fans watching it will be rooting for Tyson and watching it only to see Paul get knocked out.

Whether that happens or not remains to be seen, but I think the appeal of the fight is based mainly on that notion for many.

why would anybody "like" any of these guys?

they're all a bunch of thugs.

and if boxing wasn't legal, they'd be beating the crap out of people in the real world and be in prison.

That's all very true. But if Tyson is on top of his game then Paul may not even be able to do that.

As Tyson famously once said:  "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face".
