Is it easy to stand back and let the others do something bad? No. But maybe we should not directly use that as a reason for more escalation. Let's try to be calm and think twice.

This will never work with Putin, who is having a laugh when facing weak and disjointed adversaries such as the  EU and US. What is needed right now is a a 2% or 3% war sales tax across the EU. These populations must contribute heavily to the war effort, otherwise they'll have nothing to complain about what is going to happen.

It's a threat. It's what Putin does. He's done it before. It's an EMPTY threat. I've said that retaliation will come and it has and will. I've also said nukes won't be used and they won't. As for Putin using a threat of 1^st strike I do believe this time round it was after Biden sanctioned the use of ATACMS and I don't hear you condemning Biden for escalating the war. Why is that?

That is just a smoke screen. 10,000 questionably trained North Korean troops that don't speak Russian are going to have little to no impact. Apart from this there is zero evidence that these troops are actively engaged in Kursk. The sanctioning of the ATACMS, Storm Shadow and anti personnel mines has nothing to do with it. The fact is North Korea has been supplying Russia with weapons and ammunition for quite some time.

Russia has been threatening nuclear war since 1999 when Yeltsin warned US. They threatened nuclear over 2007 missle defence, threatened Poland over US missle shield and again during the Crimea war. Over 2 dozens nuclear threats over the years. Putin know it is the end game if he use nuclear weapons. Russia will be isolated economically. China and India which are their biggest trading partners have warned them against using nuclear and will have to halt economic ties. It will be end for Russia and Putin if he goes nuclear. He knows it. His threats are becoming more desperate and he is near to his finishing line.

Imo, if V.P. extends the war elslewhere he will only do so by using tactical nukes. He thought he would take Ukrane in a very short time but his conventional weapons have not been successful in doing that. So he must realise that making strikes anywhere else with the same type of weopons will also be unsuccessful (in terms of winning 'the day' as it were). That leaves him with only the nuke option. But even then he must realise that if doesn't kill (all) his opposition in a first strike Russia will suffer from nuclear strikes too.

Another ridiculous and misleading article that is driven by pure hyperbole. No, thankfully Europe is not preparing for all out war. All those concerned, including Putin, understand that a war between nuclear powers can never be fought, as it would likely turn nuclear and the doctrine of mutually assured destruction still holds true today. While Putin's threats should be taken seriously, analysts concur that he will most likely retaliate through hybrid warfare, while continuing with the nuclear saber-rattling. Its not in his interests anyway;  a Trump presidency is looming and he is clearly winning conventionally. All analysts are in agreement that the recent change in policy with regard to long range missiles has come too little and too late. They are a desperate attempt to slow down the Russian advance and salvage something from a misguided proxy war. While serving as an escalation, it will not affect the Russian momentum or have any significant strategic effect. It is now clear to everyone that in the long term Ukraine cannot win or reclaim its lost territory. It doesn't have the weapons or manpower. Even Zelenskey, as reality finally dawns,  now says that Crimea can only be regained through diplomacy. It is high time that reality and pragmatism come to the fore, and for the sake of all concerned, not least Ukraine, that negotiations begin on some kind of ceasefire.
