No, you replied about border issues. Last time, the topic is tariffs.

Looks like someone didn't read the article just the headline. The tariffs directed at Mexico and Canada are directly linked to the borders as outlined in the article. If you can't see this then I can only assume a) you're a headline reader b) your not real bright or c) both a) and b).

"On his first day back in office, Trump pledged to enact a 25% tariff on all products imported from Canada and Mexico. He described the measure as a response to what he called an "invasion" at the U.S. border. “On January 20th, as one of my many first Executive Orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% Tariff on ALL products coming into the United States, and its ridiculous Open Borders,” he stated. “This Tariff will remain in effect until such time as Drugs, in particular Fentanyl, and all Illegal Aliens stop this Invasion of our Country!”

That will only be a day or two because Trump is going to build great walls, the best you have ever seen.

In fact no one has ever seen a wall like it!

Are Mexico and Canada going to pay?

We all know the answer to that!

Oh by the way,Fentanyl comes from China and India by mail.

Your comment is obviously well researched and thought through. NOT. Keep up the good work. The stuff is flooding across the US/Mexico border. I'm definitely not saying that China has nothing to do with it. It's just the opposite.

Illicit fentanyl, primarily manufactured in foreign clandestine labs and smuggled into the United States through Mexico, is being distributed across the country and sold on the illegal drug market.

You assume a lot, actually i did research but decided not to post that but now i will.

Just meaning to say that if the Mexican and Canadian borders would be tight shut illegal stuff will still be coming in.

Trump ALWAYS lied.

Never said there would be a cost for his radical tariffs.

But at least Elon Musk made the warning. There will be PAIN.

The border between Canada and the USA is one of the longest unprotected borders in the world.

Easy to get across in many locations.

How would it ever be possible to close that gap without taking away anybodies rights?

I have never been at the US/Mexican border but i know there is some kind of boundary because that is a big issue.

I also know that a lot of illegals enter the US by air.How would you stop that?

Fentanyl needs to be stopped, fine but how?

Guns are not coming from Canada or Mexico, they are coming out of the US.

Problems like this can never be solved by one country but the funny thing is ,nobody wants to be dictated by their neighbor.

A bully kind of approach will only backfire and cause worse problems.

It should be added that most drug is not smuggled through "holes", but through legal ports of entry. And 80% of smugglers were U.S. citizen.

"The data are most relevant to understanding fentanyl seizure activity because the vast majority of fentanyl is seized at ports of entry, not between the ports where people cross illegally. Figure 2 breaks down fentanyl seizures by location. From FY 2015 to 2024, 88 percent of all fentanyl was seized at ports of entry, basically the same as in FY 2024. Another 4 percent was seized at vehicle checkpoints on highways after the ports. Only 8 percent was seized by Border Patrol on patrol, and many of those seizures came from vehicle stops as well."

Children. They are like modern indoctrinated college age children, even the adults. Racist, xenophobic, arrogant and ENTITLED.

Thats right. Entitled. Uncle Sam takes care of them, so they can continue 2000 year old spats between Bosnians and Herzegovians and Lancastrians and Prods and Papists and Flemings and Waloons and Serbians and Albanians and North Macedonians and Greeks and Cyprus and Turkey and English and Scotch and Basques, Castillians, Poles and Russians and all of those POS little squabbling ancient countries basicaly rest on their laurels as the "fount of civilization".

Well hopefully Big Don says we have been bailing you dudes out since 1917, and if it wasnt for us, you would be all speaking German or Russian, so pay your own freight, and hope you have enough electricity to run the Mercedes plants and keep the migrants warm.

I wonder how much money we have spent since 1917. I wonder if we have ever gotten paid back for anyhting.

I do want to see reciprocal tariffs applied, especially to Thailand.

I bet any acknowledgement from the US that they exist would be a win in Thailands book

There was already a 40% dropped in arrivals to US-Mexico border after the former Mexican President clamped down on immigrants. Caravans are no longer reaching the northern border as they being detained within Mexico. The border situation is a scaremongering tactic by Trump.

Had Harris been elected and Mexico showed any genuine interest in slowing it down, they'd be flying them in directly from south of the Darien Gap on chartered flights.  Not to mention, Mexico didn't have a genuine interest in slowing down the flow of money for the cartels and money from future remittances.  She was just hedging against a Trump win, and the threat of tariffs.
