We have here a bitterly disputed subject of incompatible views based upon diametrically opposed interpretations of events.
Perhaps the following strongly-voiced argument can shed further light on the issue:
(Note: the defendant of the Palestinian position is a Jewish doctor who lost his parents in Auschwitz, who has spent time in Gaza and has changed his outlook over time. We all change over time, unless we are brain-dead)
It is his responsibility, he drove his car into the gate, so he should fix it. Insurance companies like to drag their heels when it comes to making payments, they also looking for the cheapest options. If it was me and I damaged a gate where I was renting, and the owner was pissed off, I would fix it out of my own pocket. We're not talking huge sums here, probably a couple thousand baht. But now the owner is pissed off and booting him out causing him lots of grief.
0n October 7 2023 over 1700 Israeli civilians were killed by Palestinians. Many of them were women, children and infants who were raped and then beheaded. Others were taken as hostages. It is understandable that Israel will continue to hunt down all those directly or indirectly responsible. On the broader issue, events leading up to and during WW2 speak for themselves. Taking account of these two occurrences alone renders the UN's position on Israel not only unacceptable, but also contemptible.
