The ad, met with skepticism and ridicule, suggests a disconnect between the company’s ethos and its audience.

People are sick of Woke nonsense being shoved down our throats, pardon the pun. Bud Light, Disney, Jaguar etc. can all do one. I will never support a business that shows itself to be so gullible and lacking in good judgement as to follow inane, cringy fads like Wokeism. 

 

JK Rowling is a legend. Her defense of women's rights should be applauded unlike all the plastic feminists who think it is edgy and progessive to want blokes in the girl's loos.

This has been spread by minority virtue signaling radical activists and taken on by governments and the legacy media. Seems like Trump's victory might be an antidote. There needs to be significant push back against pandering to this progressive woke minority agenda. The majority are sick of it.

Sucks to be Jaguar right now.  They were clearly expecting a Harris win and a continuation of the woke nonsense and spent no doubt tens of millions on an epic failure of a rebrand.   Sad to see an iconic British brand doing this to themselves but they only have themselves to blame as apparently they had 15 different DEI groups... in a car company.   Their sole purpose is to make and sell cars and their typical buyers are almost exclusively middle aged white men who will now be turned off from the brand.  

 

HBO are doing good things.  Watched the Penguin recently and it really was quite excellent.

Niece and nephews go to public schools in a blue state, suburbs of an ultra woke city, and have never had or heard of any of those problems ...  no trangender in the bathrooms, no access to elective surgeries ... not sure about libraires as most of this generation does not read books, and is not forced to. Pronouns  Never had anyone say anything about pronouns, ever. That is in school for them. I go back every other year for a month, for twenty five years. Never ran into it once. Not once

I am a far-left liberal and would be considered "woke" by most right-wing conservatives. I do, however, support HBO's decision to continue to be associated with J.K. Rowlings. Being "woke," I am fervently in favor of the 1st Amendment's right to free speech, and that goes for all artist's works. They can express their opinion with their art, and we can then either enjoy their art or choose not to read, listen to, or buy their art.
