Opening UK bank account-non tax resident
I have heard and read good things about Chase online and I see their savings account can earn 4.75% on new accounts. You need to have a current account first though. You apply for that online via their app. -

Canada is Petrified
You obviously do not understand the US consumer. They want the cheap price. There is a reason why retailers like DollarTree and Walmart are popular. The majority of consumers put low cost over quality. It's nice that you want to use GDP per capita as an economic indicator, but you have intentionally left out a key factor: The need for the income to be higher in the USA and the gap between the haves and the have nots. The cost of healthcare and of basic necessities like home and auto insurance is much higher in the USA than in Canada. Individual GDP has to be higher in the USA because the total costs of living are higher. Canadians benefit from a public health insurance option and have access to better social benefit options. In the USA, wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few. In Canada, wealth is more equitably distributed. In plain language, the use of a per capita value is misleading because the wealth in the USA is not held by many individuals and is instead, held by a small number off people. A more accurate data point is the national GDP. The United States has the largest economy globally and Canada ranks 9th at US$2.015 trillion. Only the State of California has a larger GDP than Canada. Texas used to, but 2024 is expected to see Canada pass Texas based upon the strength of the Canadian oil sector. And for all the criticism of Trudeau, the Liberal government managed the last Trump tantrum and threat campaign very effectively. It was a national effort. All the provinces, the business community and the major political parties were all on the same team. It was a pan canadian effort. This time around, Pierre the Conservative party leader doesn't seem too interested in a Team Canada effort, and he is getting criticized for it too. -

Thai Singer Died from Blood and Fungal Infections, Not from Neck Massage
Na, it's pneumonia. At least with the guys I knew who died from AIDS. I also know a guy who had a stroke after having his neck cracked by a chiropractor. His gf is an RN and got him to a hospital in time for treatment. He was messed up for months but eventually made a full recovery. -

Cost to Send a Pea: How much to send a pea from NYC to Thailand via UPS?
Agree. UPS is DIRTY.....BIG TIME. Also, if one would wish to contact UPS regarding any dispute....then..... They, DELAY, DENY, and DEFEND. This company, UPS....is VERY BLACK. Do not have anything to do with this company...unless.... You might be a major company. Even then, this company is like....THE MAFIA. It is a SHT company....FOR SURE...... -

Opening UK bank account-non tax resident
Barclays have a reputation for closing accounts of those they suspect are no longer resident in the UK. No questions asked either. -

Opening UK bank account-non tax resident
I am earning 5.12% on Barclays Rainy Day Saver account but only up to £5,000 limit. The rate then drops considerably over this threshold. I set the account up via online banking but I have Premier Banking which I think is the reason for the enhanced interest rate. I also use SAGA and Newcastle Building Society for larger amounts with decent rates. My circumstances are different to yourself. I split my time pretty much equally between UK and Thailand but would currently view my residence as UK. I pay no tax in the UK, nor elsewhere. I am 56 years old but retired. I have structured my finances in such a way that currently, I do not pay tax in the UK. I envisage this to continue until I am of State Pension age. I appreciate that this is not really of any help to what you are trying to achieve. Have you looked at any of the APP only savings accounts mentioned on moneysavingexpert? I assume they will still ask the pertinent questions but maybe worth a look?
