Why all the negativity?

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

I've noticed since joining this forum back in September that certain members have nothing but negative, abusive and downright slanderous things to say on my topics and elsewhere. I would just like to ask, why all the negativity? Are you just disappointed that Trump won and are venting your spleens or is it something much deeper? Do you have issues that need working out? I mostly make topics about my life experiences in Thailand, but it seems that certain members just cannot or will not accept my experiences for what they are - MY EXPERIENCES. Nothing more, nothing less, and I thought that's what a forum was for, to share all our collective experiences. Perhaps I was wrong, maybe this place is different...

People may appear to complain or find fault more often due to accumulated life experiences, a tendency to resist change, or frustration with unmet expectations. It can also stem from a desire to share wisdom or maintain control in a world that feels increasingly unfamiliar as they age.

Naahh, but there is a majority here who think you are "Bob".

I used to be a Monitor lizard in a previous life. But our days all Jews are..

I am English so why would I give a monkey's who won the US Election?

You ask why members whinge or are negative about your posts. Some of them are so ridiculous, that's what they deserve.

Come on Colin, list all the OPs you have started since re-joining and let's take it from there.

They are my experiences, KannikaP. There is't much I can do about it but I do feel the need to post about them here in an (albeit probably futile) attempt to help other members or open their eyes a little.

The outcome of the US elections affect everyone on the planet, not just Americans, whether you want them to or you don't!

Your posts are about drinking and sex. I don't need your help with either, Bob.

Why did you start this negative topic on Thailand bob? You must accept that you Colin and bob smith are one in the same. Easy to find so many threads that you are quite negative in.

So don't reply to them then!

...and really, all of my topics are about that are they?

were yesterday's topics about drinking and sex?

10 people seemed to agree with his topic.

Is his opinion not valid?

As did the first member who replied to him.

You would help a lot of members by not starting any further posts, just reply to others please.

How would that help a lot of members? And didn't you say the other day that you will be no longer replying to my topics? Hardly a man of your word, are you?...

People are negative with your posts as they are so repetitive and boring and you are  so obviously posting under numerous names and no more then a troll.

I have only one account on here.

Your problem is nobody takes you seriously.

Constantly denying you are a reincarnated Bob, and absolutely nobody on this forum believes you.

Of course there is nothing wrong in coming back from the dead, just admit it.

The primary requisite to sharing wisdom is to have it.

Everybody is so much better than another one these days ...

No " together " , just jealousy ...

I stay with my dogs , it is better for me ...

Much better than most people, for sure.

It's easy to be misunderstood online, whether it's a forum, Facebook, emails etc.

Being long sighted with fat fingers, a 4 inch phone screen and slow data doesn't help.

If I offend someone I normally don't mean to, but if they take offence and fire up I'm happy to return the serve.

A lot of posters get such things very very wrong, in many cases, it is after all only guesswork combined with the posters desire to be right.

There is definitely a noticeable negative and nasty side to this AN forum, much more noticeable than any of the other internet forums I look at.  So many threads just deteriorate into back and forth bitching, and there are many here who instantly jump down others throats, it's like they go through every post looking for some point they can seize upon to use against the OP.  Because of this I personally don't post much here, and I've given up asking anyone for advice due to smart-ass nasty responses.

Yep, I agree with all of what you have said.

Though I haven't given up yet, but I'm sure many wish that I would because they simply can't take what I have to say.

Truth smacks hard for some! Maybe a bit too hard...

Like it, or possibly, as my old Dad used to say

"Better to remain quiet and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt"

I don't know why people express dislike and upset  by your posts.

They should just scroll down like most people without reading  your posts and move on

Is it really that hard to scroll down when you see my topics??

Not at all hard. Have a nice day

“am English so why would I give a monkey's who won the US Election”

You certainly are a rare breed

The majority of the posters on U.S. political threads appear to be non tax paying, non U.S. citizens hell bent on expressing their views on U.S. politics.

...and what's wrong with that?
