Who Is Controlling the Budget Bill? Trump, Johnson, or Musk?

Yea, he loves it so much he tried to overthrow 250 years of democracy, and also put US national security at risk by stealing thousands of highly classified documents and keeping them out in the open in his wedding planning facility, where anyone willing to pony up $200K can join and have access.

Those with an inability to see reality are fooled by performance art like dry-h#mping the flag at the CPAC conference run by Matt Schlapp, a guy who likes to "grab'em by the cojones", not small kittens like 45/47.

As President Musk shuts down government over the holiday season, Americans on Social Security, a government pension, SNAP or SSDI, or who work for entities a South African immigrant and an Indian immigrant plan to shut down, are going to understand a phrase 45/47 used to use:

"They're killing Christmas"

The Grinch now has a name: Elon.

Your ability to see a Harris win was spot on.

What reality are you talking about. Taking into consideration you were part of the Biden is mentally fit crowd.

Biden is so sharp you would think he is the current president, up late at night on the phone constantly, moving the deals in his war room.

Democrats seem to have disappeared. So who is determining things?

seeing the news this AM frm the US, Trump wants Biden tosign a bill to  increase the "debt ceiling" which will then able Trump to cut the income taxes of the RICH upon assuming the office on 20 January.  Trump then can make the excuse that the DEMs increased the debt ceiling, not him.  Without the increase, the two parties had already come up with an omnibus bill to fund the govt until March and Trump never mentioned this increase of the debt ceiling until yesterday.  I don't think Biden will sign such a bill ... going to be some more unhappy folks during the holidays but am sure Presidents Trump/Musk are feeling pretty powerful in steering the govt already before they even take the oaths in January.  All Trump/Musk need to do is wait until 20 January, then as president and with a Rep controlled House and Senate ht could then get a bill to sign increasing the debt ceiling so he can then lower the taxes of the rich but then that would be too obvious I guess.  From what Ihave read bout our congress, their main job is to work out a bill funding the US govt for the next year...here we are already 3 months into that "next year" and might have to shutdown due to no funding bill!!!  Need to fire all of them, come up with term limits and hopefully get some folks more interested in actually doing the job of the congress instead of concentrating on getting re-elected so they can then get rich.  My opinion anyway as a conservative Republican and anti-democratic policies.

I think Trump will soon regret letting Musk into the tent, if he hasn't already.

Without musk it's doubtful trump would be in the tent. Although i'm sure trump won't have any doubts.

But the main thing for trump is that he can implement policies favouring himself and look good on TV.  He won't care about anything else and will let musk do what he wants, which will result in musk further enriching himself and increasing his importance.

One of the things I feared. He's following the same pattern he did last time. Talks big on controlling immigration and restoring American industries. Then the first thing he does is a tax cut for billionaires. All the other stuff is subsequently ignored. Same as last time in office.

Congress has other ideas about being bossed around by Musk and Trump.  I am almost sure the GOP in both the House and the Senate will challenge Trump's threats to primary them.

Got news for the Chicken Little Gang, the sky is not falling.

The Republican members would rather face the wrath of Trump rather than irate voters.

The US/DOGE might even shut down NASA and turn it over to Space-X, and make Space-X the only partner of Space Force.

Might be a good idea. Nasa has been inept. Without Musk, the US would have still been relying on Russian boosters to get anything into orbit.

It's not a very good image for a president in waiting to be threatening members of his own party 30 days before he takes office.

What does he care? He'll be a lame duck.

Concerning Musk: intelligence doesn't protect aagainst egoism and imbecillity. Only one example: Musk supports the German far right wing party AfD.

Trump doesn't actually like doing the president work.

He likes the pomp and circumstance and for some reason it doesn't look like Vance is going to be much of a factor, unless he's called to take over.

I think there's a great deal of truth to this. Trump likes the parties and international meetings. He also likes having adoring audiences. All of which is interesting considering what I just saw in the British press. It seems the UK is sending a new ambassador to the US who has publicly insulted Trump several times. I see the British speculating their man will be frozen out. I don't think so. Trump, for some reason, is an Anglophile and allows all sorts of slights and insults from the UK. I'll bet he let's this pass too. I remember when he spent his first term angling for a reception from the late queen. This is what the man likes, not the nitty gritty of hard political work.

you must not understand that Trump as a narcissist would never admit to being a "lame" duck as that could mean having a fault to him and he never admits to any fault.

For all appearances it appears that Musk is calling the shots. A bipartisan bill was agreed to and presented, Speaker Johnson was ready to close the deal, then President Musk put out over 100 tweets screaming about killing the bill, which of course all the little sycophant muppets (INCLUDING the incoming president!) whimpered, "Yessir!"

Welcome to the next four years.

President Musk-01.jpg

Who wants to bet that Musk will be out before he's even 'in'? Knowing Trumps hatred of anyone who gets more publicity than him, Musk would do well to keep his trap shut!

Of course he cares.  Keeping up his image is very important to him.

Who's a lame duck?

lame duck    noun

1.  An elected officeholder or group continuing in office during the period between failure to win an election and the inauguration of a successor.

2.  An officeholder who has chosen not to run for reelection or is ineligible for reelection.

3.  An ineffective person; a weakling.

Biden ticks the box on all three.
