At least for now, fiscal hard-right GOP Rep. 'Chip' Roy of Texas.

No. Chip Roy is a result of a weak speaker and party leadership.

and pass a pork filled, corrupt disaster of a CR that Trump was forced to accept.

Biden was forced to accept it.

Will work out for Trump in the end, as planned.

Didn't raise the debt ceiling?

Gosh, guess we'll just have to cut spending.

Bigly!

Trumps got it going, well under control....strict control. Biden, NOPE, he's done, mentally unfit to even play bingo at the old folks home.

Suture! Trump has everything under control! 🤣

Government shutdown is averted just after deadline as Congress rejects Trump’s debt limit demands

"Facing a government shutdown deadline, the Senate rushed through final passage early Saturday of a bipartisan plan that would temporarily fund federal operations and disaster aid, dropping President-elect Donald Trump’s demands for a debt limit increase into the new year."

"So is this a Republican bill or a Democrat bill?” scoffed Musk on social media ahead of the vote." 😆

Taking it from over 1500 pages, down to 118 pages.  But the MSM claims most of the provisions are still there...

The 118-page bill contains most of the provisions that were put in place in the bipartisan bill that was agreed to on Wednesday before it was killed after Musk criticized Republicans who supported it.

Perhaps Trump, with Musk's help, just sent a message "no more holding the gub'ment hostage with thousands of pages of your pork"?

GOP has controlled the house for 4 years already. They have had 4 years to pass an actual budget but couldn't whip (pressure) the votes the entire time, and could barely pass a CR multiple times. What makes you think that this pattern will change now?

Again, you keep talking in anachronisms.

The GOP is currently 2 separate parties. The fact that they have an 'R' next to their names is merely incidental at this point.

The RINO Republicans are a completely different animal from the MAGA Republicans. The RINOs and the Democrats together make up the deep state Uniparty. Until you understand this, you can't possibly hope to understand what is happening in Washington.

Until all the RINOs are identified and eliminated through primaries, talking about the Republicans as if they were a monolithic entity makes no sense. Hopefully, we may get an actual Republican party made up entirely of MAGA sovereigntists in 2026. Until then, you're correct. Nothing is going to change. The deep state Uniparty (Democrats + RINOs) will continue to destroy America.

Biden wasn't negotiating this, and everyone knows it. Trump was the one forced to capitulate and accept defeat.

Ummmmm..............who is (p)resident and will sign the bill?

That would be lame duck Biden.

Trump is just a private citizen, presumptive president elect, although not official until the electoral college votes are certified in January.

I also rather suspect that he is not really interested in the nitty gritty of governing, preferring the "big ticket" stuff which puts him in the limelight.

He put it pretty plainly during the 2016 campaign: the vice president will take care of the paperwork while he travels the country making America great again.  No one explained to him that veep is a quasi-ceremonial thumb-up-the-butt job.

I wonder why Ol' Joe didn't step forward on cutting cancer research, it's been one of his pet issues.

I think and agree, it's time for the Democrats to just sit back, play hard ball. Maga heads will break promises, lie and cheat so working with them is a waste of time. They won't, Maga will screw up the country, so let them. If there is another chance in 2 years Maga will have removed the Republican party from contention for a while.

History has seen quite a few rulers that have amassed great wealth who have been overthrown by another powerful leader or by an uprising of a disgruntled populace.

The one thing you have to give the DNC credit for is that when they need to vote together, they do so.  They fight it out beforehand but come to vote as organized units in the room.dd party, and even the squad falls in line.

The GOP is a clown show, with this supposed GOP group crewing everything up and not listening to the adults in the room and they guy that got them elected.

The solution is to put one fo the clowns in charge and see how life is really.

It is reported that Musk made sure that the restrictions that would impact his China investments were stripped from the legislation.

Surprise surprise! 😆

The spending agreement released Tuesday included a bipartisan provision to limit and screen U.S. investments in China, among dozens of other proposals attached to the 1,500-page bill.

As the CEO and largest stockholder in Tesla, Musk has extensive business connections to China. The company operates a major manufacturing plant in Shanghai and has sought to build deeper connections with Chinese companies.

DeLauro cited Tesla’s operations in China as a reason for Musk to derail a bill containing limits on investments in the country, and she cited potential issues with technologies such as self-driving cars and long-lasting batteries being made in China.

"Who Is Controlling the Budget Bill? Trump, Johnson, or Musk?"

Not two of the above to date. Bipartisanship appears to prevail much I believe to the dismay of Presidents Trump and Musk.

"Biden signs stopgap bipartisan measure to fund government, avert shutdown"

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/government-shutdown-congress-trump-elon-musk/

President Biden has signed a funding bill to avert a prolonged government shutdown into law.

The House passed the continuing  with a vote of 366 in favor to 34 against (can you say MAGA?) and one member voting present, with more Democrats voting to support it than Republicans. Count Johnson as complicit in passage.

The Senate overwhelmingly approved the bill by a margin of 85-11, with most Democrats and Republicans supporting the measure.

Legislation does not address the debt ceiling demanded by Trump.

For all appearances it appears that Musk is calling the shots. A bipartisan bill was agreed to and presented, Speaker Johnson was ready to close the deal, then President Musk put out over 100 tweets screaming about killing the bill, which of course all the little sycophant muppets (INCLUDING the incoming president!) whimpered, "Yessir!"

Welcome to the next four years.

I think Elon has alerted the public to the shenanigans resulting in the resulting pressure on Both sides

Bravo I say.

It should of always been vote bill by bill for transparency .

Where have you been the past 24 hours?  Biden already signed another bill passed by the House and the Senate.
