As far as I know the official minimum age for girls to work in gogo bars is 20. And in some places like NANA that seems to be enforced.

So, no girls under 20 in the bars. But there seem to be also very few who are only a few years above the minimum. There are lots of women 30+. And many of them are not exactly slim.

Years ago, there were always a new generation of girls part of the mix on stage. But now? Where are they?

Savvy girls now work online. There they are in greater control and can make a lot more money.

 

The bar scene as it used to be is a thing of the past.  Sure , there will always be bars but the employees will mostly be non tech minded MILFS.

 

In the past , when I asked young Thai kids what they wanted to be when they grew up I would get the usual answers . Doctor , nurse , pilot etc. Now they all seem to have stars in their eyes and want to be Youtube or Tiktok stars or at worst , an ' influencer '

The thai government doesnt want the country to be famous for the things that made it successful. So the country will decline. Too bad they arent smarter

I understand that girls under 20 can legally work in bars, but they cannot drink alcohol.

I am not sure if the legal age for working is 16 or 18.

I understand that makes them independent, and they don't have to show up for work.

But I guess it also makes them more vulnerable without any bouncers as a backup.

Yes, it is legal, but that should stay with other 16 year olds and not 30 to 70 year old foreigners right?

They are everywhere in Bangkok doing a wide variety of jobs  but probably out of reach (younger, better looking, slimmer, better educated, more sophisticated) for tubby middle aged sex tourists who in any event gravitate towards sex workers.

It's obvious that things changed over the years. And at least I play sometimes the game: What if things were different, i.e. what if I would arrive now in Thailand. Would I still find the type of girls I like. For me the answer is obviously: No, at least not in the places where there were plenty of cute young girls years ago.

Why should I care?

If people want to spend time together, for whatever reasons, let them do it.

It a 70 year old guy can attract a young girl, and that is legal, why should it concern me or you.

I guess I would see that differently if it would be my daughter. But I have no kids and no such worries.

Morality should concern everyone. Even if you can't understand because you don't have any daughters, anyone going after girls that young is disturbed, especially if they are past 30 years old.

Pointing out a problem and complaining about it is the first step to getting rid of a problem. Nothing to do with being a white knight. Girls never need to work the sex trade. There isn't a valid excuse and never will be. Many are forced or coerced into it by disturbed greedy parents, former abuse at home, forced into addiction, or suffering from a disorder to even think of getting into the trade other than being forced. They can get jobs and stay near their families, especially if they have children.

This is one of those young and not so innocent girls.

Personally, I don't hunt for girls who are just old enough, they must be somehow sexy that I am interested. And normally they know they are sexy because they present themselves as sexy girls. And then it's up to them what they want or don't want.

I never forced any girl or women to do anything she didn't want to do. That's good enough for my understanding.
